Bali to Welcome Renewed Direct Flights from Taipei This October

Bali is set to strengthen its connection with Taiwan as direct flights between Taipei and Denpasar are scheduled to resume on October 1, 2026, operated by Starlux Airlines. The route is expected to make travel to Bali more convenient for Taiwanese visitors while supporting the island’s efforts to attract more international tourists.

The return of the Taipei–Bali route was discussed during a meeting between Bali Governor Wayan Koster and David Wen-Chiun Lin, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) in Surabaya, in Denpasar on September 3. The meeting also covered matters concerning Taiwanese citizens visiting or residing in Bali, as well as opportunities to strengthen ties between Bali and Taiwan.

Koster welcomed Starlux Airlines’ plan and expressed his intention to attend the welcoming ceremony for the inaugural flight on October 1. He also highlighted the importance of direct air connectivity in expanding Bali’s access to international tourism markets and supporting the island’s tourism sector.

For Taiwanese travellers, the renewed service means greater convenience and shorter travel arrangements, removing the need for connecting flights to reach Bali. Lin also expressed optimism that the direct route could encourage more Taiwanese tourists to visit the island, tapping into Taiwan’s strong demand for overseas travel.

Beyond tourism, the reopening of the route is also seen as an opportunity to deepen people-to-people connections between Bali and Taiwan. With direct air access restored, both sides hope to strengthen tourism cooperation while further positioning Bali as a preferred destination for Taiwanese travellers.
