Flying in a helicopter has been on my bucket list since I was a child, despite my fear of heights and turbulence.
Thanks to Fly Bali Heli, a helicopter service, charter, and helicopter scenic tours in Bali, I got to check that off my bucket list.
On that very sunny day in July, I got to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Bali from above and sing along with Mario Ginanjar, one of the lead vocals of the well-known Indonesian music group, Kahitna.
Having had a small concert the night before, Mario was very friendly and very communicative with everyone who got the chance to fly and sing with him.

This program is created for those who are looking forward to an unforgettable and exciting once-in-a-lifetime experience where passengers get to sing and reminisce along with popular music around the world in an exclusive helicopter ride.
Prior to the experience, each one of the passengers was given a short brief on how to approach the helicopter, assigned to their seats, was shown a video of the proper procedures, and given a portable floatation device should any emergency occur.
The ride lasted around 15 minutes, me and two other lucky participants got to see the majestic Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, the pristine waters of Pandawa beach, learned about different types of clouds that can cause turbulence (where I tried to keep my cool and not panic!), and witness the grand Uluwatu Temple from above while singing to the tunes of the 90s and 2000s greatest hits.
All in all, it was an experience of a lifetime, and I don't mind if I have to do it all over again (wink wink). Plus, getting a compliment from a professional singer doesn't hurt.
