Empowering Women, Inspiring Change Padma Resort Legian Held a Self Defense Workshop for Women

In this modern world, where everything is mostly easy, sometimes women’s rights aren't progressing as they should. Even today, women still face catcalling for their appearance, not to mention how quickly situations can escalate from verbal to physical. In these kinds of situations, women often freeze up and feel helpless, unsure of what to do. It was in response to this matter that Padma Resort Legian held a Women’s Self-Defense Workshop.

In collaboration with Bali Jiu Jitsu school Woven, we are excited to announce a Women's Self-Defense Workshop featuring Simone Julia, a distinguished purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a current international Jiu Jitsu athlete. She has earned two gold medals in the National Championship (Kejurnas), one gold medal in the Indonesian Submission Championship, two gold medals in Jiu-Jitsu championships in Malaysia, two bronze medals in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), the Jiu-Jitsu Championship Manila Open, and a silver medal in the Jiu-Jitsu Thailand Open World Ranking event.

This exclusive workshop was held on Saturday, 9 March 2024, at Padma Resort Legian and took place in a serene garden ambiance, providing an outdoor experience in a semi-private setting.

At Padma Resort Legian, we are committed to inspiring every woman, engaging in sports not only has a positive impact on our physical well-being but also influences our mental health, contributing to an enhanced mood. We firmly believe that a content body leads to a joyful mind. This unique opportunity is to empower women and contribute to the celebration of International Women's Day in a proactive and meaningful way.

“It’s a new experience for me and my friend. We came just for the sake of curiosity, but the workshop actually was really exciting and might be useful in the future” said Sintha, one of the participants in the Women Self Defense Workshop.
