As we ascended the stylish staircase to the second floor of Chandi Restaurant, aptly named ‘Chandi Diatas’ (means ‘Chandi Above’ in Bahasa Indonesia), a world of eclectic elegance unfolded before us. The airy terrace, caressed by a tropical breeze, beckoned us to relish the moment. Yet the fully air-conditioned comfort within was equally appealing. The high ceilings, the gentle whirr of ceiling fans, and the exotic bas-relief light sculpture adorned the ambiance with a touch of mystique.

Customized Culinary Exploration

Chandi's commitment to crafting an unforgettable dining experience was evident from the moment we perused the menu. Each of us was delighted to select a trio of delights—an appetizer, a main course, and dessert—allowing us to weave our individual culinary tapestries. The culinary options were a mosaic of creativity, from the Amazing Crunchy Tofu Squares with their tantalizing medley of flavors to the exquisite Balinese Crispy Duck, a true symphony of taste.

True to its reputation, Chandi serves a great selection of Pan-Asian cuisine. Every dish that graced our table was a masterpiece in both presentation and taste. The vibrant colors, intricate plating, and thoughtful pairing of ingredients spoke volumes about the chef's dedication to the craft. The Green Vegetarian Nasi Goreng, meticulously combining Sautéed Asparagus, Grilled Kemangi, Steamed Edamame Flash Fried Tofu, Lemon Basil, Shallot, Garlic, Leek, Shitake, and Zucchini Skewers, with an optional “Egg à Cheval”, was a delightful medley of textures and flavors, a true ode to the diversity of Asian cuisine. The Grilled Black Sea Bass Dabu Dabu (Trio Bell Peppers, Ginger, Shallot, Coconut oil, Tomatoes, Sweet Soy Reduction, Red Chili, served with Lemongrass Steamed White Rice) was a gastronomic journey through Indonesia's coastal flavors, while the Roasted Rolled Crisp Pork Belly was a tantalizing fusion of flavors which consisted of Kailan, Pomelo, Chives, Pineapple Sauce with Palm Sugar,
Coriander, Garlic, Carrot, and bird’s Eye chili truly left us craving for more.

The dessert offerings at Chandi Restaurant are a tantalizing finale to our exquisite dining journey. From the delicately salted Butter Caramel Onde Onde adorned with black sesame and grated coconut to the ethereal Young Coconut Crème Brulèe with its spiced sugar allure, each dessert is a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. For a refreshing touch, the Duo Fresh Fruit Sorbets or Ice Creams beckon with choices like Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, Strawberry, Coffee Espresso, Toffee Caramel, Mango Sorbet, and Tamarillo Sorbet. The Pomelo Pomegranate Gin Gin danced on our palates, a refreshing and invigorating concoction that perfectly complemented the exquisite dishes. For fine and refreshing non-alcohol alternative during our dine at Chandi Restaurant, Frosted Blueberry Iced Tea captivated our palates with its invigorating blend of lemon-infused iced tea, accompanied by the delightful essence of blueberry sorbet and a touch of fresh mint, creating a harmonious medley of flavors that elegantly complemented our culinary journey.
