In anticipation of The Papandayan Jazz Fest (TPJF) 2025, scheduled for October 4–5, the Road to TPJF series continued with  Jazz Interruption, a unique program designed to bring jazz closer to the public. This edition took place at KCIC Halim Station, Jakarta, featuring a special performance by the band Sökhi on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM.

The concept of  Jazz Interruption was created to introduce spontaneous jazz performances in unexpected public spaces, transforming ordinary routines into extraordinary musical moments. Its presence at KCIC Halim served not only as entertainment for passengers but also as a manifestation of TPJF’s mission to expand the reach and appreciation of jazz throughout Indonesia.

Bobby Renaldi, Founder of TP Jazz Management and General Manager of The Papandayan, expressed:
“The  Jazz Interruption program reflects our spirit at The Papandayan Bandung to present jazz not only on grand stages, but also in public spaces where everyone can enjoy it. We want to bring a sense of comfort and connection to people’s hearts and souls, making jazz more accessible, inclusive, and relevant to everyday life.”

Sökhi

Sökhi, known for their fresh musical character and modern jazz exploration, captivated audiences at the station with their vibrant repertoire. Their performance proved that jazz can live and be appreciated in any space—even in a high-speed railway station, a symbol of Indonesia’s modern progress.

Formed in early 2019, Sökhi is a musical project initiated by Rolanda Sasongko (violin), Ereza Gandi (guitar), and Batara Watson (guitar). The group blends elements of Gypsy Jazz and Ragtime, enriched with Indonesian lyrics in the style of Adikarso and Andarinyo, creating a sound that is both rooted in tradition and refreshingly contemporary.

Bobby Renaldi further added:
“The presence of Sökhi at KCIC Halim represents The Papandayan Jazz’s commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness within Indonesia’s diverse society. Inspired by the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, our vision is to present jazz inclusively—welcoming people from all backgrounds, abilities, and statuses, while celebrating differences in a more open and fluid way. Bringing jazz into KCIC Halim is a living testament to how music can unite people, even in a transit space where time usually feels rushed.”

The  Jazz Interruption at KCIC Halim marks the fourth installment of the Road to TPJF 2025 series, leading up to the main festival on October 4–5, 2025. This year’s edition, themed “A Culture Resonance”, will feature more than eight stages and a diverse lineup of renowned local and international jazz musicians.
