Les Clefs d’Or, the prestigious international association of hotel concierges, boasts over 4,000 members across 80 countries. Easily recognized by the golden crossed keys on their lapels, these elite professionals are dedicated to providing exceptional guest service. With a rich history dating back to 1929, Les Clefs d’Or emphasizes service and friendship as their two strong pillars. Membership requires rigorous training and proven expertise in fulfilling a wide range of guest requests, from the simple to the extraordinary.
Lalan Setiawan started his career as a hotel Concierge staff member in 2016. He joined Pullman and ibis Styles Bandung Grand Central team as a Concierge in 2020. He demonstrated his passion for work and personal development, and has since progressed to become the Concierge Supervisor. In 2021, Lalan became a local member of the association, marking the beginning of his journey to fulfill the minimum requirement of two years of local membership before he can join as an international full member and receive the Golden Key.

To earn the right to wear the Golden Keys, candidates must fulfil strict requirements in order to have the honor of representing their country. In order to qualify nominees must be active members of the association, working as Concierge d’Hôtel, meaning the member must be a Concierge staff at a hotel. Last but not least, the candidates had to create a written article on their city and introduce themselves through a one minute video. The skills they use every day while working at their Concierge desk are also assessed through written exams on the history of Les Clefs d’Or, geography and general hotel knowledge. The candidates were also required to write an essay on their interest in the profession and their aspirations.
