In celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), Ascott Hotels Area Bandung organized a smartphone photography training session for children with disabilities from SLB Negeri Cicendo Bandung. The event was held joyfully at Wok N Tok Restaurant – YELLO Hotel Paskal Bandung, offering a fun and inclusive learning experience for the participants.

Through the training, students were introduced to the basics of product photography—particularly food photography—by utilizing smartphone features. Beyond theory, the students also had hands-on practice in designated hotel areas with a variety of food dishes as photography subjects. To boost enthusiasm, fun challenges were held to test their photography skills, with shopping vouchers awarded to the three best photos.

“We want to provide space for these students to learn new skills they can develop. Photography is a medium of expression accessible to everyone, and today we proved that all children have incredible potential to explore this field,” said Ivan Rinaldi, Marketing Communications of YELLO Hotel Paskal Bandung.

“This event is not only aimed at providing education but also encouraging involvement in the digital and creative world. We hope the knowledge gained will support the students of SLB Negeri Cicendo in their learning process and equip them with skills for the future—such as photographing products for small businesses or school assignments,” added Handi Gunardi, General Manager of West Java Area.

With a spirit of collaboration and social care, this event stands as tangible proof that access to technology and digital skills should be equitable, reaching all segments of society, including children with special needs.
