ARTOTEL Suites Aquila – Bandung held “Coffee Connect: An Afternoon with the Media,” a warm gathering over coffee aimed at introducing the hotel’s new General Manager, Anton Susanto. The event took place at the Lobby Lounge of ARTOTEL Suites Aquila – Bandung.
On this occasion, Anton Susanto, as the newly appointed General Manager, shared his strategies for moving the hotel forward, covering short-term and long-term plans as well as his leadership style. “In the first six months, I will focus on increasing revenue and ensuring service standards are aligned with ARTOTEL Suites’ values of hospitality. Going forward, our priority is to strengthen the ARTOTEL Suites Aquila brand with consistent service, leverage my 30+ years of experience, and bring a new identity that makes this hotel not only a place to stay but also a gathering destination for diverse communities,” Anton said.
Anton Susanto is a hospitality professional with over 25 years of experience in the industry, particularly in hotel pre-opening, operations, conventions, and property management. A graduate of Schiller International University in Florida and London, he also holds the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Throughout his career, he has led several renowned hotels, including serving as General Manager of de Braga by ARTOTEL, Cluster General Manager of Parador Hotels & Resorts, and Combo General Manager of Tauzia Hotel Management. His expertise spans brand development strategies, team management, and community engagement across sectors. His achievements include awards such as Best General Manager 2012 and Best Convention Hotel Bandung, underscoring his consistent leadership in delivering top-quality hospitality standards.
In his leadership approach, Anton emphasizes closeness with both staff and guests. He enjoys walking around the hotel, engaging directly with employees and guests, and leading by example. His directions are conveyed in simple language and built through open discussions, ensuring every step toward shared goals is realistic and collaborative.
To maintain team motivation, Anton is committed to understanding staff needs, encouraging transparent communication, and resolving issues quickly. He also highlights the importance of shared beliefs: trust in oneself, trust in management, trust in the owner, and faith in God, through the spirit of “Ora et Labora” — working hard while praying.
