Pondok Selera Sunda, A Spacious Sundanese Restaurant Near Lembang Route

A trip to Bandung would not be complete without stopping by a Sundanese restaurant to enjoy comforting local flavors. Strategically located in the lively Setiabudi area — one of the main routes toward northern Bandung and Lembang — Pondok Selera Sunda has become a favorite stop for both locals and travelers. The restaurant combines authentic Sundanese dishes, generous portions, and a warm traditional atmosphere that makes every meal feel satisfying before continuing the journey.

Pondok Selera Sunda is the kind of place that easily fits into any Bandung itinerary. Opening from 8 AM daily, the restaurant is suitable for an early Sundanese breakfast before starting the day, a comforting lunch stop in between exploring the city, or even dinner on the way back from Lembang. Since it sits along the busy Setiabudi route, it has naturally become one of the go-to dining spots for travelers looking to recharge before continuing their trip toward northern Bandung.

During our visit, we tried several dishes, including Paket Nasi Liwet, Gurame Pesmol Acar Kuning, Tumis Kangkung, Udang Sambal Pete, Terong Raos, Pisang Goreng Bumbu Kacang, Es Campur, and Es Cendol.

Among everything we tried, the Gurame Pesmol Acar Kuning quickly became a favorite thanks to its savory flavor and rich yellow spices that perfectly soaked into the fish. The Terong Raos was another standout menu — crispy on the outside with a sweet and savory flavor combination that made it surprisingly addictive. Meanwhile, the Pisang Goreng Bumbu Kacang offered a unique combination we rarely find elsewhere, pairing crispy fried banana with rich peanut sauce for an unexpectedly satisfying bite.

Combined with the comforting atmosphere and strategic location, Pondok Selera Sunda feels more than just a regular meal stop. It is the kind of place where visitors can slow down for a moment, enjoy authentic Sundanese flavors, and recharge before continuing the journey through Bandung and up to Lembang.
