As the sun dips below the horizon, signalling the end of another day of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, we eagerly made our way to The Royal Iftar Buffet at The 18th Restaurant and Lounge of The Trans Luxury Hotel for a truly delightful Iftar experience. The warm ambiance welcomed us, offering a beautiful view from the 18th floor. With a tantalizing array of buffet choices, a mascot also enlivened the ambiance, offering dates and special tea from table to table.
Navigating through the offerings of the Iftar buffet, we found ourselves spoiled for choice. The mouthwatering all-you-can-eat grill stations and an array of all-time favourite menu items from the 18th Restaurant and Lounge beckoned us. Our eyes were immediately drawn to the Slow-roasted BBQ Beef Rib and the mouthwatering Lamb Mandi. Next to them, a tantalizing Pasta Station with Grana Padano, Singaporean steamboat, and Dim Sum, our personal favorite, awaited.
Delivering Lamb Mandi
Aside from the savoury stations, the sweet delight station was equally enticing. Plump dates, ice cream, and traditional desserts such as Lapis Beras and Es Campur adorned the table. Not to be forgotten was the recommended dessert from the Middle East, Umm Ali. This creamy Egyptian delight with layers of milk-soaked bread, custard, and nuts offered a comforting sweetness with hints of vanilla. It was like a warm hug in dessert form, perfect for indulging in the cozy flavours of home and tradition.
Brazillian BBQ
More to explore were the special signature Ramadan delights, a feast fit for royalty featuring succulent Kambing Guling (roast lamb), fragrant Lamb Mandi and more awaiting discovery. Additionally, guests could enjoy delicious sushi in the sushi corner and Pita Bread for a taste of the Middle East besides the grilled station. For those seeking authentic Asian flavours, there was also a delicious Asian buffet.
