Known for its signature burnt cheesecake and as one of the first dessert spots in Bandung to serve burnt cheesecake ice cream, Bakeslane keeps finding ways to surprise dessert lovers with playful creations. This May, the bakery quietly introduced Butter Tteok, a not-so-secret menu that has officially launched on May 20, alongside a new beverage called Crimson Velvet.
Before diving into the new menus, we tried some of Bakeslane’s signature desserts that helped make the place popular among Bandung’s sweet-toothed crowd. Their Burnt Cheesecake Ice Cream delivers the same rich and slightly caramelized flavor as the iconic cheesecake itself, only in a colder and more refreshing version. Another standout was the Chocolate Flavor Cheesecake topped with crunchy kunafa and pistachio. The creamy cheesecake paired with the crispy kunafa creates a combination that feels surprisingly satisfying — you can literally hear the crunch in every bite.

The real spotlight, however, belongs to the upcoming Butter Tteok. At first glance, the chewy Korean-inspired dessert already steals attention with its adorable teddy bear shape. But behind the playful look, there is actually a sweet little story.

“Just like a teddy bear, it may look firm on the outside, but soft and comforting inside,” shared the baker when explaining the idea behind the menu.

That description fits perfectly once you take a bite. Slightly crisp on the outside yet soft and chewy in the center, the Butter Tteok brings a comforting buttery flavor that feels both warm and addictive. The menu comes in three flavors — Original, Cheese, and Matcha — each served with sweet dipping sauces including caramel and vanilla. The Matcha version offers a subtle earthy finish, while the Cheese flavor adds a savory touch that balances the sweetness nicely.

To complete the experience, Bakeslane also introduced Crimson Velvet, a dessert-like beverage combining strawberry jam, red velvet, and cream cheese. Creamy, sweet, and slightly tangy at the same time, the drink pairs beautifully with the chewy texture of the Butter Tteok.
Although the space itself is not particularly large, Bakeslane carries a calm and cozy atmosphere that makes people want to linger a little longer. The indoor area feels intimate and warm, while the backyard outdoor seating offers a more relaxed vibe for slow afternoons, casual catch-ups, or simply enjoying desserts with coffee.

With creative menu innovations, comforting flavors, and a cozy bakery atmosphere, Bakeslane continues to be one of Bandung’s recommended spots for dessert hunting, especially for those looking to try something playful beyond the usual pastries and cakes.
