Marking its first anniversary, KLEO Seminyak, part of JdV by Hyatt, celebrates the milestone through KLEO Seminyak: Layers, Unmasked, an immersive art exhibition and cocktail reception that introduced its newest featured artist, Ngakan Putu Agus Arta Wijaya (NPAAW).

Layers, Unmasked celebrates the guests, partners, and community who shaped the property’s journey. The exhibition reflects a year of meaningful encounters and shared creativity and opened a new chapter for KLEO Seminyak as a destination where art, culture, and hospitality naturally come together.
Set within KLEO Seminyak’s Atrium and Rooftop Event Space, Layers, Unmasked showcases a thoughtful selection of works by NPAAW, including pieces from his Penumbra, Mandala, Wave, and Cocoon series. Curated by Savitri Sastrawan, the exhibition highlights the artist’s experimental process involving masking tape, glue, and spray paint, through which compositions were built layer by layer to create abstract forms that explored themes of transformation, transition, and the spaces between.

The exhibition invites audiences to look beyond the surface, exploring how color, texture, and movement come together to challenge conventional perceptions of form and completion. Following its opening event on August 13, the exhibition will remain on view at KLEO Seminyak in the months ahead, welcoming guests to experience NPAAW’s latest works beyond the launch evening.
The opening cocktail reception and celebration featured an artist’s talk and guided walkthrough, offering guests deeper insight into NPAAW’s creative journey, artistic process, and latest collection.
One of the celebration highlights was the community art activity, an interactive large-scale painting experience where invited guests became part of the creative process. Guided by NPAAW, participants contributed their own strokes to a collective artwork using a roller-painting technique, transforming a blank canvas into a shared expression of creativity and connection.
When the masking tape was peeled, it revealed layer by layer of superimposed paints; the final layer was a thoughtful touch of NPAAW: KLEO Seminyak’s logo, JdV’s logo, and his name altogether!

Guests became part of the artwork itself, adding their own marks to a piece that grew through collaboration and collective play. Even the masking tape used during the painting process found a second life: once peeled away, it was transformed into a statue, turning a simple studio material into an unexpected collective artwork. The final piece captured the energy, creativity, and shared spirit of the KLEO community!
The event then concluded with a cocktail reception and networking session at Rooftop Social Bar & Pool, bringing together creatives, tastemakers, and industry partners against the backdrop of Seminyak’s vibrant neighborhood while opening a new creative chapter for the property.
More than an exhibition, Layers, Unmasked highlights KLEO Seminyak’s commitment to championing creativity within Bali’s vibrant cultural landscape. Bringing together media, in-house guests, and members of the creative community, the whole exhibition is a space for dialogue, collaboration, and artistic exploration, further strengthening KLEO Seminyak’s role as a platform for experiences that connected people through culture and creativity.
