Andaz Bali is set to present the seventh and final chapter of its celebrated Wok’s Around the World series, showcasing the authentic flavors of Shaanxi cuisine. From 19–26 October, Village Square will host a special dining event featuring two distinguished guest chefs from Grand Hyatt Xi’an: Kevin Wei and Patrick Lei.
Chef Patrick Lei, the sous chef at Grand Hyatt Xi'an, brings extensive experience from prestigious hotels such as Hyatt Regency Xi'an and Grand Meliá Xi'an. His signature dish, Shao San Xian, highlights his expertise in Shaanxi cuisine with a savory blend of meatballs, dried tofu skin, pork belly, yuba and fungus in a rich broth. Chef Lei looks forward to introducing Bali to the unique flavors of Shaanxi while exploring the island’s own culinary delights.
Joining Chef Lei is Chef Kevin Wei, the assistant dim sum chef at Chang'an Bridge Restaurant, Grand Hyatt Xi'an. With over 13 years in the art of dim sum and Shaanxi snacks, Chef Wei has honed his skills at Hyatt properties including Hyatt Regency Dongguan and Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Airport. His acclaimed dishes, such as hot oil noodles and Xi'an braised pork, promise to deliver an authentic taste of Shaanxi’s rich culinary tradition.
