Set amidst the lush landscapes of Sebatu, north of Ubud, Tangelo Bali at Cicada Resort Bali Ubud, Autograph Collection, presents “A Sip of Stories,” an exclusive collaboration with Karu celebrating Balinese heritage through contemporary mixology and artisanal craftsmanship. Taking place on November 10, 2026, from 5:30 PM onwards, the experience features a guided tasting of Karu's distinctive spirits, the unveiling of two signature cocktails, Sekar Jagat and Campuhan, and the cultural performances of Nusantara Night. Both cocktails will remain available exclusively at Tangelo Bali until December 31, 2026.

Long before contemporary mixology, arak had been an integral part of Balinese traditions and gatherings. Inspired by Japanese shochu-making and Bali's distilling heritage, Karu is crafted from Cilembu honey sweet potatoes and pristine spring water sourced from the rainforest of Mount Batukaru in Tabanan. Bali's second-highest mountain, Batukaru is a sacred and ecologically rich landscape known for its ancient rainforest and natural springs. An environment that gives Karu its distinctive sense of place. Through a single-distillation process, Karu preserves the natural character of its ingredients, resulting in a spirit that is clean, balanced, and smooth.

Inspired by Bali's cultural narratives, Tangelo Bali and Karu introduce two exclusive cocktails. Sekar Jagat, meaning “flower of the world,” celebrates Bali's tropical blossoms, particularly pucuk bang, and the beauty of daily floral offerings, reflecting nature and gratitude. Campuhan, inspired by the meeting of two rivers, blends Karu's locally crafted spirit with rose vermouth, symbolizing harmony between Balinese heritage and contemporary mixology. Together, these creations bring the island's stories to life through imaginative flavors.
