This October COMO Uma Canggu invites guests to transform their fitness regime through the Boxing Camp, led by world-class boxers Darren Barker and Ryan Pickard. Over six days of intensive training and rejuvenation, participants will learn boxing fundamentals, engage in diverse exercise modalities, and immerse themselves in the serene and bohemian charm of Canggu.
Participants in this exclusive retreat will master the foundations of boxing, improving their self-defence kills and overall fitness. Under the expert guidance of Darren Barker and Ryan Pickard, attendees will push their physical and mental boundaries through a variety of workouts, including yoga, cardio and meditation. This holistic approach ensures rapid and effective fitness improvements, while also developing strength, speed, agility, hand-eye coordination, endurance, and power without the need to take a punch.
Nutrition plays a crucial role in the retreat, with participants refuelling with COMO Shambhala Cuisine. This nutritious and satisfying menu ensures that guests eat the right kinds of food to support their training. The elegant accommodation at COMO Uma Canggu offers rooms with ocean or lagoon pool views, providing a luxurious setting for relaxation. After intense training sessions, guests can unwind at the COMO Shambhala Retreat wellness centre, enjoying massages and treatments designed to soothe weary muscles.
The retreat's schedule is designed to balance rigorous training with ample relaxation. Each day begins with core exercises and meditation to set a positive mindset. Boxing sessions focus on footwork, defence techniques and authentic training at a local gym. Afternoons include diverse activities such as jogs along the beach, old-school circuit training, and technical boxing drills. Evenings are reserved for dinner and relaxation, with options for COMO Shambhala massages to rejuvenate the body.
The final day of the retreat includes a closing ceremony on the beach, where participants can reflect on their achievements and set goals for the future. The serene and laid-back atmosphere of Canggu, combined with the structured fitness programme, ensures a transformative experience for all attendees.
From October 17th to 21st 2024, we are also hosting The Little Boxers Camp, aimed at building confidence and teaching children new skills to conquer challenges, learn discipline, and ignite a desire to live a healthier life through sport. Children staying at COMO Uma Canggu can expect to learn various movement and defence techniques led by expert coaches Ryan Pickard and Darren Barker. The training is non-contact, with a full lesson line-up guiding children through the essential attributes needed in the sport of boxing. Children of all capabilities are welcome to join.
About the boxing coaches:
Ryan Pickard and Darren Barker bring a wealth of experience and expertise to this retreat. Ryan, a highly successful amateur boxer, has captured multiple national titles and earned medals at the Junior World Championships and Youth Commonwealth. He has represented and captained the England team and co-founded the renowned 12x3 gym in Paddington. Darren’s illustrious career includes winning the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games and the world middleweight title in 2013. As a co-founder of 12x3 gym, he has trained numerous celebrities and athletes.

The six-day Boxing Camp for adults is available starting at IDR 97,960,000 based on double or shared occupancy and from IDR 58,460,000 based on single occupancy. The rates are inclusive of accommodation, full board meals and boxing camp activities.
