17 & 18 October 2025 | Seminyak, Bali
Seminyak, Bali — This October, the heart of Seminyak will pulse to a new rhythm. Seken Bali, the island’s only dedicated jazz and cocktail bar, proudly presents its inaugural Seken Sounds Weekender — a two-day mini festival blending live jazz, funk, cross-genre grooves, and crafted cocktails.
Cocktails & Bites
At Seken, cocktails move with a jazz rhythm—layered, unexpected, and built on rare spirits, local botanicals, and minimalist precision. Among the Signature Cocktails, highlights include the Salak Serenade (white rum, fermented salak purée, calamansi, mace, egg white), a tropical sour that spotlights Bali’s unique snake fruit; and the Late Night Riff (dark rum, Kintamani cold brew, dark crème de cacao, saline, aged cheddar foam), a deep, after-dinner groove designed for those who like complexity in the glass.
To pair, the bites menu offers flavorful, shareable dishes crafted for late-night conversations. Guests can enjoy the Fritto Misto (seafood & vegetables with citrus mayo) or indulge in the hearty Mac and Beef (macaroni, four cheese, lardon, beef)—both favorites that hit the sweet spot between comfort and creativity.
Seken Sounds Weekender Line-Up
Friday, 17 October — Soul & Funk Night

This dynamic six-piece band is on a mission to spread pure groove magic. Expect a night of irresistible rhythm and dance as they bring back the timeless energy of the 70s and 80s classics.
Mokodee (DJ Set) — Afro-Latin Jazz selections to close the night. A fixture in Bali’s nightlife since 2000, Mokodee is known for crafting immersive sets that move effortlessly through Afro House, Organic Downtempo, Soulful House, and Deep Amapiano. For Seken, he takes the decks with a special journey through Afro-Latin Jazz and Rare Grooves, closing the night with infectious rhythms built to keep the dance floor alive.
Saturday, 18 October — Jazz Without Borders
Greybox Quintet — genre-bending live set from a leading music producer. Rizky Argadipraja, better known as Greybox, is an Indonesian producer, songwriter, and DJ whose work blends electronica, dub, house, and UKG into a distinctive sound. Since beginning his journey in 2011, Greybox has built a reputation for genre-bending productions supported by international tastemakers. With the Greybox Quintet, he brings that spirit to the stage—melding colors, styles, and energies into one boundless musical experience.
Faktta (DJ Set) — cross-genre blends of jazz-hop, contemporary soul, and beyond. Jakarta-born Faktta uses music as a platform for liberation, creating soundscapes that resist easy definition while inviting deep connection. Rooted in percussive polyrhythms and minor chord progressions, her style thrives on broken beats and fractured forms that unify the dance floor. Her cross-genre approach promises a captivating opening to a night of boundary-pushing jazz fusion.

Beyond The Weekender — Seken Sounds Weekly Music Program
When people say, “This isn’t jazz,” the answer is simple: “The jazz you knew has evolved.” From its beginnings, jazz was never static. It was born out of improvisation, rebellion, and the need to express what words could not contain. Today, it continues to evolve into a postmodern form—deconstructed, reformed, and blended with the rhythms and tensions of our time.
At its core, jazz is being reclaimed by the communities who created it—Black, coloured, and indigenous voices whose lived experiences forged the music in the first place. It carries the grit of culture, the resilience of improvisation in adversity, and the creativity of those who live on the margins. This is jazz as it was always meant to be: alive, urgent, and unafraid.
Seken brings this spirit to life through Seken Sounds, a weekly programme that redefines what jazz can mean today. Each night offers a different lens:
-Primetime (Wednesdays, Live Band) celebrates the roots with modern takes on jazz standards.
-Jazztronic (Thursdays, DJ Set) blends nu jazz, neo soul, and funk with DJ-driven energy.
-Improve (Fridays, Live Band) champions free-style jazz and contemporary sounds in an open format for musicians to experiment.
-Infusion (Saturdays, DJ Set) dives into Afro-Latin jazz and rare grooves, connecting jazz to the pulse of global rhythms.
Through this programme, Seken Sounds pushes jazz beyond its clichés, opening doors to new audiences and reshaping the scene for the here and now. No velvet ropes, no smart casual dress codes, no gatekeeping. Whether you arrive in jeans, a t-shirt, or straight from a metal gig, Seken welcomes you home. Because at its heart, jazz is not an institution—it’s a movement. And Seken is here to move with it.
