AYANA Estate Announces “Green Camp AYANA”, a collaboration with Green Camp Bali

This collaboration offers nature-based and transformative educational programs for children ages 7 - 12 to cultivate skills and develop sustainability knowledge and awareness in fun and inspiring ways.

AYANA Estate and Green Camp Bali, operators of one of the world's greenest and most purpose-driven camp experiences, announced the launch of Green Camp AYANA, a two-week collaboration bringing holistic, nature-immersed programs to AYANA Estate. Scheduled from December 12 - 16, 2022, and December 22 - 26, 2022 this program is designed and facilitated by experienced, green educators from Green Camp Bali for children ages 7 - 12.  This collaboration marks the first Green Camp Bali program in a resort continuing the program’s mission to offer nature-based and transformative learning adventures to inspire sustainable living.

Green Camp AYANA offers five unique programs that campers can enjoy for a single-day adventure or combined in a series for multi-day immersion sessions. Junior Scientists program (December 12 and 22, 2022) offers estuary exploration with nature scavenger hunts and adventure in the morning, followed by bugtastic “make friends with bugs” and recycled journal-making. Bamboo Design and Builder program (December 13 and 23, 2022) will challenge children to build bamboo towers and egg slides, followed by bamboo product design. Nature Explorer program (December 14 and 24, 2022) offers fun-filled soil clay making followed by safe coconut tree climbing and natural dye creation. Survival Skills program (December 15 and 25, 2022) takes children on a jungle walk and shelter-making activities followed by fire-making and water purification experiments. The last program, From Seed to Table (December 16 and 26, 2022), offers a morning of gardening followed by food foraging and cooking class experience with green camp master chefs.

The programs are designed to cultivate survival skills, develop sustainability knowledge and awareness, and empower children to think outside the box of their lives and into the wonder and wisdom within them and the world around them. "These experiential programs will challenge the children in fun and inspiring ways. It will enable them to grow in confidence, resilience, and awareness so that they can become change-makers in their own lives, communities and beyond," said Reski Amirullah, Camp Director at Green Camp Bali.

Green Camp AYANA will take place at AYANA Estate, a 90-hectare, wondrous retreat of culture, culinary genius, and four famed resorts. A place where earth, jungle, sky, and sea thrive in their very own ecosystem and home to 200 plant species and numerous birds such as Bulbul and Hummingbirds.

The special partnership between AYANA Estate and Green Camp Bali was born through a mutual understanding that the best way to nurture love and care for nature in the community is through education of the next generation of decision makers. "As the largest integrated resort in Bali, AYANA Estate is proud to spearhead sustainability efforts in the island's hospitality industry. We have been long admirers of Green Camp’s fun and educational program and we’re so excited to be able to help bring this program to guests and residents of South Bali,” said Michi Sonoda, Executive Assistant Manager of Sales and Marketing at AYANA Estate. AYANA Estate has consistently ranked as the regional leader in the lowest CO2 emissions per guest and continues to invest in various ESG initiatives. Thus far, AYANA Estate has invested in forming a permaculture farm with its AYANA Farm, recycling 80% of its sewage water for irrigation and water features, and upcycling 90% of its organic waste to produce 100 tonnes of compost to fertilize its plants.

The Green Camp AYANA will be held from December 12 - 16, 2022 and December 22 - 26, 2022, from 09.00 - 16.00, and will welcome 20 explorers to participate in the program each day.
