Jumeirah Bali marked the start of its festive season with a heartwarming Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Amartha Lobby, followed by the official opening of the Kamasan Painting Exhibition at Trowulan. This year’s programme, themed “A Festive Journey of Timeless Traditions at Jumeirah Bali,” highlights the island’s classical artistry and the joy of the gathering during the holiday season. The evening welcomed guests and partners to a warm celebration rooted in tradition, honouring Bali’s cultural heritage through the lens of Kamasan artistry.
The event began with a performance by the Bali Music Academy Children’s Choir, whose harmonies set a joyful tone for the evening. As the tree was lit, the lobby was filled with a gentle seasonal glow, making the beginning of the resort’s festive journey and creating a moment of togetherness for all in attendance.
Guests then moved to Trowulan for the opening of the Kamasan Painting Exhibition, curated by Balinese art researcher and writer Made Susanta Dwitanaya. The showcase highlights work by five artists; I Made Sesangka, Ni Wayan Sri Wedari, I Wayan Pande Sumantra, I Wayan Yudara, and Gde Eka Wikananda – each representing a different generation within the Kamasan lineage. Their compositions reflect the tradition’s distinctive narrative style, meticulous linework and deep cultural symbolism. The opening was accompanied by Gamelan Gender, adding a reflective and immersive atmosphere to the experience. The exhibition remains open until 6 January 2026.

Throughout December and early January, Jumeirah Bali will continue its festive celebration with a series of cultural programmes inspired by Bali’s classical heritage. Guests can look forward to performances featuring Gamelan Saron Luang, Gamelan Selonding, and a collaborative presentation by Gamelan Sundaram and Manubada Art, each offering a distinct expression of rhythm and movement. These showcases will be accompanied by Live Kamasan Painting, allowing guests to observe the artistry behind one of Bali’s most enduring visual traditions. The Kamasan programme will be concluded with a cherished Mandolin with Rindik performance, highlighting melodies drawn from traditional children’s songs. Together, these experiences honour the island’s artistic legacy while enriching the festive journey at the resort.
Complementing the cultural calendar with A Festive Journey of Timeless Traditions, Jumeirah Bali invites guests to enjoy festive dining at Segaran Dining Terrace and AKASA Restaurant & Bar, wellness journey at Talise Spa, and a curated programme of activities for younger guests at Peafowl Kid’s Club. These experiences reflect a season shaped by connection, artistry, and the serene beauty of Uluwatu’s coastal surroundings.
