Padma Hotels has partnered with Djarum Foundation to present a travelling exhibition dedicated to the conservation of the Javan Hawk-Eagle (Nisaetus bartelsi), Indonesia's national bird. Hosted across three Padma Hotels properties, the exhibition aims to raise public awareness of one of the country's most iconic yet threatened species while inspiring collective action to protect Java's remaining forests.

Running from 28 July to 23 August 2026, the exhibition showcases the remarkable story of the Javan Hawk-Eagle through immersive visual displays, educational panels and compelling conservation stories. The exhibition highlights the ongoing conservation journey of the species—from extensive population and habitat surveys conducted across the island of Java to the current development of the Java Hawk-eagle Conservation Strategy and Action Plan (Strategi dan Rencana Aksi Konservasi/ SRAK). This milestone reflects a collaborative effort among researchers, conservationists, government institutions, private sector, and local communities to safeguard the species and its rapidly diminishing forest habitat. The Javan Hawk-Eagle is far more than a national symbol. As an apex predator found only on the island of Java, its presence reflects the health of the island's remaining tropical forests. These forests not only sustain extraordinary biodiversity but also provide clean water, climate resilience and essential ecosystem services for millions of people. Today, however, the species continues to face mounting threats from habitat loss, forest fragmentation, illegal wildlife trade and human disturbance.

By opening its hotel to the travelling exhibition, Padma Hotels hopes to introduce thousands of guests and visitors to the story of the Javan Hawk-Eagle while encouraging greater appreciation for Indonesia's natural heritage and the importance of protecting the ecosystems that support both wildlife and communities.
