This Halloween, Alunê at W Bali – Seminyak invites guests to experience Día de los Muertos, Mexico’s vibrant tradition of honouring the lives and memories of loved ones who have passed.

Día de los Muertos is a Mexican tradition that celebrates the lives and memories of loved ones who have passed, bringing people together through food, music, flowers and joyful gatherings. At the heart of the celebration are ofrendas, or altars, often decorated with vibrant marigolds, believed to help guide loved ones back to the celebration.
In Bali, flowers carry their own meaningful place in everyday life. Bunga gemitir, or marigolds, are woven into Balinese offerings and ceremonies, creating a natural connection between the two cultures. For Alunê, these golden blooms become a symbol of connection, bringing the spirit of Día de los Muertos into a Balinese setting.
The celebration reflects the philosophy of Alunê, where life moves in rhythms and cycles, from the moon and tides to the transition from day into night. Día de los Muertos offers another expression of this rhythm, celebrating the idea that while life changes, memories and connections continue.
Across two days, Alunê will bring this spirit to life with Mexican-inspired flavours, music, performances and playful activations, creating a vibrant gathering centred around culture, connection and celebration.
Adding to the celebration, Chef Silverio Altamirano, a Mexican chef with more than 23 years of international experience across over 20 countries. Having worked with renowned hospitality brands, he brings a deep passion for Mexican food and culture to this special collaboration.
Now based in Indonesia as a Latin Cuisine Consultant Chef in Asia, Chef Silverio will create an exclusive menu for the occasion, showcasing the bold flavours and rich traditions of Mexican cuisine.
As the sun sets, the celebration comes alive with DJ performances, live entertainment and festive activations, inviting guests to gather, indulge and move with Alunê’s rhythm.
