At Andaz Bali, sustainability will be explored not as a concept, but as a practice rooted in everyday materials and local knowledge. On 6 February 2026, the resort will collaborate with local botanical textile studio, Crea Botanica, to host a botanical textile coloring workshop under the name BOTANICAL ATELIER, which brings together craft, nature, and learning.

The experience will begin with a guided walk through Andaz Bali’s Herb Garden. The workshop will then move into a hands-on session focused on plant-based tie-dye techniques. Using materials sourced from the herb garden alongside Crea Botanica’s dried plant collections, participants will work with leaves and natural pigments derived from flower petals, including marigold, one of Bali’s most familiar ceremonial flowers, commonly found in canang sari, offering a deeper cultural connection to the process. The textile coloring will be applied across tote bags as the medium.

Crea Botanica will lead the session with an emphasis on slow making and mindful production, encouraging participants to engage with the natural characteristics of each material rather than aiming for uniform outcomes. The approach reflects a broader view of sustainability that values process, intention, and material awareness.

The General Manager of Andaz Bali, Jaco Le Roux, shared that sustainability has long been at the heart of the resort. “Our commitment to sustainability is something we are deeply proud of. We have preserved the landscape in our resort for decades, even before the resort was built. Supporting initiatives like this workshop with Crea Botanica is a natural extension of that commitment, allowing us to continue championing sustainability through meaningful, community-led experiences.”

The experience will conclude with a hearty luncheon at Blue Oven, located in Village Square, a communal space formed by four intertwining restaurants at the heart of Andaz Bali. The collaboration reflects the resort’s ongoing commitment to supporting local creatives and developing experiences that are grounded in place, where sustainability is expressed through participation, creativity, and community.
