There are fun outdoor activities you can do in Bali besides soaking up the sun on the pristine beaches, and we’ve compiled our favorite places and activities for you.
1. Slide on at Waterbom Bali

Can we all agree that Waterbom Bali is one of the favorite destinations for outdoor activity in Bali? The waterpark has 22 slides, from extreme to mellow, that are built and maintained to international safety standards. Waterbom Bali also preserved a lush garden where you can have group activities such as company outings, get-togethers, or birthday celebrations. Bring your family along, a dedicated kids area complete with its own slides is accessible for children under 12 years old.
The award-winning waterpark implemented a comprehensive plan to ensure the long-term sustainability of the business through waste, water, and energy management. Have fun while also saving the earth? We love that! The waterpark is open 7-days a week from 10 am to 5 pm, allowing you a full day of fun on the slides.

2. Trekking at Campuhan Ridge

There are few tracks you can find in Bali, however, our favorite would be the Campuhan Ridge Walk. It’s located close to Ubud center and surrounded by lush jungle with a well-maintained path. Rather than rice terraces and farms, the Campuhan Ridge Walk takes you through a jungle or woodland.
The path extended up to 2 kilometers and it’s best to visit in the morning for sunrise or late afternoon during sunset. It will take you around 30 minutes from starting point at Warwick Ibah Luxury Villas & Spa, and back. You can stop by at Karsa Cafe for a refreshment. There is no entry fee.

3. Hiking The Batur Mountain

If you love being one with nature and enjoy hiking, we would recommend the Batur Mountain sunrise hike. Standing at 1,717 meters above sea level, hiking the Batur Mountain is relatively easy, although make sure you’re in good stamina as it would require around two hours to hike.
Located in Bangli, travel from Kuta would take around two to three hours. Get ready to wake up really early to catch the sunrise and take in the breathtaking view. After the hike, you can head down to one of the cafes for breakfast or dip in the natural hot springs. You can hike with a group of friends or book through tour operators.

4. Rafting at the Ayung River
The sacred Ayung River, noted for its wide banks and strong rapids right through the heart of Ubud, is the most popular river for rafting. And one of the pioneer tour operators is Sobek Adventure with over 30 years of service. The trail in Ayung is a 10-kilometer course that takes about 2 hours to complete, but all the fun will have you lose track of time.
The streams provide the proper amount of thrill for guests of all ages from as young as 9 years old to 65 years old, thanks to their tranquil waters and manageable drops and curves. We suggest carefully paying attention to the terms and conditions provided by the operator. Because each raft is outfitted with safety gear, preliminary skills instruction on basic movements, and an experienced guide on board, first-timers should not worry to try rafting.

Did you know you can find Manta Rays in Bali? These majestic ocean giants can be found in Manta Point of Nusa Penida and various tours offer you to swim along with them. Swimming with Manta Rays that are often chill is safe, however, you are still recommended to keep a safe distance.
There is no promise that you will be able to locate this fish, but because it is not a seasonal or migrating species, you should be able to locate it throughout the year. Morning is the ideal time to take a tour during the dry season, from April to October.
How to get there: Booking a tour with an agent is the easiest way to get to Manta Point, or you can take a boat available daily from Sanur to Nusa Penida and look for local agents on the island.
6. Learn to Surf in Kuta Beach

With its many beaches, it’s no wonder that Bali is also home to the best surf spots. Some big brands even held their annual surf competition on one of the beaches in Bali. Plenty of surf schools are available along the Kuta stretch and one of them is Odysseys Surf School which has been operating for 15+ years.
All of the instructors at Odysseys Surf School are certified by the Australian Academy of Surfing Instructors and have received bronze level training for Life-Saving Surf Rescue, Advanced Resuscitation, and Senior First Aid of the International Standard. Learning to surf here is not only safe but also a fun experience for first-timers.

7. Visit the Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Although Bali is known for its glistening waters and beaches, the island has countless awe-inducing waterfalls that can be found through steep trails along the dense jungle. One of the famous waterfalls you can find on Social Media is Kanto Lampo, a particularly easier to reach compared to other waterfalls in Bali.
Known for its tiered rock formation, the water source for Kanto Lampo is from the nearest dam, producing clearer water. Located in Beng village in Gianyar, Kanto Lampo’s uniqueness is enhanced by its slightly off-the-beaten-path position. It will take at least an hour to drive from Kuta or Seminyak to Kanto Lampo waterfall, and the best time to visit is during the daytime, in the dry season of April to October.
