This September World Wellness Weekend, launched in 2017, returns for its 8th edition from 20 to 22 September 2024. It’s an enormous celebration of health and togetherness that stretches to all four corners of the globe, from the sunrise opening ceremony on the island of Fiji, to the closing ceremony on the island of Maui.
Across all five continents, over 9,000 wellness, sports, tourism and hospitality professionals are gearing up to open their doors to the public, offering immersive wellness activities, classes and workshops - completely free of charge. This global celebration is fast approaching, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest World Wellness Weekend yet!
New global partnerships will help to raise global awareness for the joy of wellness with a bang, such as World Cleanup Day, Art Impact for Health & SDGs (WHO), Endurance Zone, WithU, Nutrition Beyond Borders (NSF), Myndstream, European Week of Sports, International Week of Happiness at Work...
In just a matter of days, 155 countries will unite to host a record-breaking number of inclusive wellness events, driven by 230 dedicated Ambassadors and Wellness Leaders. Their passion fuels this global mission aligned with the UNITED NATIONS’ objective of “Good Health and Wellbeing for All.”

It’s Wellness O’clock!
Across the world, you can find incredible wellness activities. Here are a few highlights:
EUROPE
In FRANCE, Niederbronn-les-Bains, a multi-year recipient of "Most Active City" awards, is hosting its 6th annual "Zen Village" at the golf park, featuring over 30 professionals offering various wellness and fitness activities.
In ITALY, 420 clubs from Fitness Network Italia, 200 Libertas Sports clubs, and 117 cities participate in WWW and SportCity Day with the support of the Minister of Sports: a great opportunity to be active with friends and family across the country!
In PORTUGAL, Yoga Devotion Dance's 14th Teacher Training program offers an international certification combining yoga, dance, and Feminine Ayurveda, featuring diverse practices for yoga teachers, dance instructors, and enthusiasts.
In SPAIN, Marbella's new 'Wellness Park' will offer a diverse array of wellness activities including yoga, massages, dance classes, golf introductions, sustainable fashion, and culinary experiences for all ages. Tenerife will be again the Most active island in Europe with over 200 venues and professionals offering free activities for locals and visitors.
In the UK, London's Chelsea Harbour Club will be launching their SPIRIT REBEL programme with mindfulness meditation for children, alongside GYM member challenges in club to raise funds for local club charity, and Salsateca offers free salsa dance classes.
LATIN AMERICA
In ARGENTINA, The Sports Secretary of the Municipality of Tigre will activate 19 sports centers providing various fun and healthy activities for the community, with 288 venues and professionals across the country (Buenos Aires, La Plata, Cordoba…)
In BRAZIL, Oca Wellness will coordinate sustainable activities promoting wellness programs for communities and wellness tourism, including Native Tribes.
In the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, Santo Domingo's Mayor Carolina Mejía is organizing over 2,100 wellness activities across 94 parks and 4 beaches during World Wellness Weekend, setting an inspiring world record, hundreds of activities also in Punta Cana thanks to the massive participation of Hotels, Resorts, Fitness clubs and Rotary clubs.
NORTH AMERICA
In CANADA, a full day “Wellness Connection” conference will be held at the Sport Manitoba venue, with nine health practitioners sharing their expertise, with Winnipeg as the Most active city in Canada. The Beauty Barn Spa's annual Awakening to Better Beauty event will provide a free spa day for cancer patients and their families.
In the USA, Marriott hotels are leading the charge as Most Active hotel group in the world, with curated wellness activities at 140+ hotels across their portfolio (Marriott, Ritz-Carlon, Westin....) The City of Mineral Wells (Wellness Capital in the state of Texas), will offer nature-based wellness experiences and workshops such as guided hikes and kayak tours. Maui’s Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, will organize wellness activities like sound baths, luminous breathwork, and meditation.
ASIA
In INDONESIA, Fivelements Retreat Bali leads the charge with the Bali Hotel Association, Conrad Bali, Kempinski, Six Senses Uluwatu, Ritz-Carlton, Westin and the Bali Children’s Project to organize fun and meaningful activities including the largest Sunrise Yoga session at The Meru Sanur ; and the participation of 100+ Fitness First and Celebrity Fitness clubs all over Asia.
In JAPAN, wellness classes and events will take place in the 47 Japan prefectures from North in Hokkaido to South in Okinawa with over 400 wellness professionals!
In VIETNAM, Banyan Tree, Fusion Group, Marriott, Six Senses, Vinpearl and 188 venues are joining forces to raise awareness for Wellness For All: guests, staff, community and nature.
