The M-Paspor application is primarily designed for new passport applications and replacements, presenting a more streamlined and orderly appointment system. That said, there are specific circumstances in which applicants are not required to register through M-Paspor.
According to Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration, four categories of applicants are exempt from online registration via M-Paspor:
1. Infants and young children
2. Pregnant women
3. Senior citizens aged 60 and above
4. Those with disabilities
Individuals within these categories may visit an immigration office directly and submit their passport applications through the priority service channel. It is important to note, however, that priority service quotas are limited. Thus, early arrival is strongly advised.
Passport applications without M-Paspor registration
Typically, passport applications must be initiated through the M-Paspor application. However, the Directorate General of Immigration outlines several exceptions that allow applicants to proceed without online registration.
BAP Service (Lost or Damaged Passports)
Applications for lost or damaged passports may be handled in person at an immigration office without using the M-Paspor application. Applicants are required to prepare the following documents:
- Birth certificate or diploma
- Family card (KK)
- National ID card (KTP)
- Police report confirming loss (for lost passports)
- Previous passport (for damaged passports or data amendments)
Eazy Passport Service
The Eazy Passport service is a mobile, collective passport application initiative by the Directorate General of Immigration. It’s designed for group applications, requiring a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 50 participants. Once the group has been assembled, applicants may contact their nearest immigration office to coordinate the Eazy Passport service schedule.
Human Rights–Friendly Priority Service
This priority service offers immigration assistance without the need for M-Paspor registration. Eligible applicants may present themselves directly at an immigration office. Availability is subject to each office’s quota (as mentioned above).
