ASTINDO once again cooperates with the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) to promote the beautiful archipelago nation of the Philippines to the Indonesian people by holding roadshows in three major cities in Indonesia. After previously successfully promoting the Philippines as the Preferred Destination at the ASTINDO Hybrid Travel Fair 2022 which was held on 1-4 September 2022, ASTINDO wants to maximize the tourism potential in the Philippines with this new activity specifically for the Philippines as its leading roadshow partner. Organizing this Roadshow is expected to be an excellent activity for the presence of the Philippines at the ASEAN Tourism Forum to be held in January 2023 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
This series of roadshows will be held from 6 December 2022 to 9 December 2022. Jakarta will be the first city where this roadshow will be held, namely on 6 December 2022 at Harris Vertu Harmoni. Followed by two other cities, namely Surabaya on December 8 2022 at the VASA Hotel, and Denpasar on December 9 2022 at ASTON Kuta, with a B2B Tabletop format. On this occasion, PDOT collaborated with Philippine trade partners in the travel sector by inviting these partners to take part in a series of roadshow activities.
The Philippines tourism partners participating in this roadshow are Shroff Travel (Destination Management Company – DMC), Belmont Hotel Manila, Kokays Maldito Beach Resort, and Hotel 101 Global. Apart from that, partner airlines and the national airline of the Philippines, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines also participated in this activity. In this B2B Tabletop session, later all roadshow participants will have the opportunity to present the products and services they offer to at least 90 travel agents in Jakarta, 60 travel agents in Surabaya, and 40 travel agents in Bali.
The choice of Indonesia as the first country for the PDOT roadshow project to be held is due to Indonesia's very promising market potential, especially in the coming 2023. "Indonesia remains an important opportunity market for the Philippines and is ranked 15th as a country with the highest number of visitor arrivals before the pandemic. As of 30 November 2022, Indonesian tourists are ranked 13th on this list,” stated Buena Carla F. Zaldivia, Market Development Head for Indonesia.
Being part of this series of roadshows is a media gathering which will be held in two cities, namely Jakarta, on 6 December 2022 and Denpasar, on 9 December 2022. This activity is an effort by ASTINDO and PDOT to reach a wider public in order to increase the visibility of this country as one of the favorite tourist destinations that can be visited by the people of Indonesia. The Philippines is a country that is rich in elements of culture, history, culinary, and hospitality values that allow tourists to experience new experiences that may have never been felt before. In the future, we hope that through this entire series of roadshows, there will be many tour operators in Indonesia who can facilitate various travel offers to the Philippines for the Indonesian people to choose from.
"In carrying out this roadshow, the Philippines is honored to have the opportunity to partner with ASTINDO, the largest travel trade association in Indonesia. ASTINDO provides an unrivaled network with an estimated 900 members across Indonesia. We are very pleased with the business relationship that will be formed and developed through this roadshow because we believe that our partner from the Philippines travel trade and Indonesian partner will get exchanges that are beneficial for both countries. Hopefully, this Roadshow will be the first of many!” – closed Carla.
