The 2025 Online Scholarship Competition (OSC) program by Medcom.id has officially concluded, with scholarship recipients announced at the OSC Awards 2025 ceremony held in Jakarta on Friday, 19th December 2025.
The OSC 2025 Scholarship underwent a rigorous, multi-stage selection process, beginning with an online test in the first round and culminating in a final assessment. A total of 312 participants successfully passed the selection process and have been awarded the OSC 2025 Scholarship, with their results posted on their OSC accounts, including their official winner certificates available for download.
This year, OSC Medcom.id collaborated with 18 private universities across Sumatra, Java, and Sulawesi, offering a total of 400 scholarships for Indonesia’s youth. Herfindo Gading, Head of Corporate Communication at Medcom.id, explained that 364 were for undergraduate students and 36 for postgraduate students. "Its total value is estimated to be IDR 29.6 billion," he declared.
Undergraduate scholarships were open to current high school seniors (Grade XII) and recent graduates who have yet to attend university, while postgraduate scholarships were open to the general public with no age restrictions. Recipients of undergraduate scholarships were entitled to full exemption from enrollment fees and tuition coverage for up to eight semesters, whereas postgraduate recipients receive full tuition funding for four semesters at their chosen partner university.
CEO of Media Group and Chairman of Surya Edukasi Bangsa Foundation (SEBAF), Mirdal Akib, highlighted the immense potential of Indonesian youth, emphasising the need for equitable and inclusive access to education. “Children across Indonesia possess extraordinary potential. Through the OSC Scholarship, we aim to open opportunities for those with limited access to education so they can pursue higher education,” he enthused.
The primary challenge in running a nationwide scholarship program lies in maintaining a fair, objective, and high-quality selection process amidst the diverse backgrounds of participants from across the archipelago. Since its inception in 2015, OSC has employed an inclusive, transparent online-based national selection model.
“Since 2015, OSC has proven that quality higher education can be made accessible to a wider audience through online scholarship selection,” he added.
As Indonesia’s first and largest online scholarship program, OSC has partnered with over 40 leading universities and awarded 3,880 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships, with a total value of IDR 372 billion. In addition, under the Surya Edukasi Bangsa Foundation (SEBAF), launched in 2019, OSC provides supplementary support in the form of living cost assistance. By 2025, SEBAF has supported 405 awardees with total funding exceeding IDR 4.3 billion.
Akib expressed hope that OSC would continue to expand its university partnerships and reach more regions, particularly areas with limited access to education. “The OSC 2025 scholarship recipients represent the future of our nation. This opportunity should be maximised to continue learning, achieve their dreams, and make a positive impact on Indonesia,” he concluded.
