Hotel Midtown Xpress Sampit celebrated its anniversary with the successful M-Run 7K event on October 20, 2024, drawing participants from Sampit and neighboring cities like Seruyan, Pangkalan Bun, and Palangkaraya. The fun run transformed the streets of central Sampit into a sea of purple, as over 300 runners donned matching jerseys.
The M-Run 7K not only featured a running competition but also included dance fitness sessions, enhancing the festive atmosphere. Participants enjoyed exciting door prizes and lively marching band performances, creating an engaging environment that promoted healthy competition through running. The event aimed to foster community spirit while encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
In the men’s category, Muhammad As'ari claimed first place with an impressive time of 29 minutes and 17 seconds. He was followed by Saifullah in second place and Mursid in third. Dimas Ade Christyawan and Agus Purwanto rounded out the top five competitors. For the women’s category, Pega Anggraini secured the top spot with a time of 32 minutes and 31 seconds, while Aulia Karimah and Tara Rantika followed in second and third, respectively. Stevani Susanto and Rayna Maharani completed the top five, showcasing strong performances in the event.
Hotel Manager Herly Subiyanto expressed pride in the enthusiasm shown by participants from various regions. "This event not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also serves as a platform for community bonding and entertainment," he stated. The M-Run 7K is anticipated to become an annual event, fostering health and camaraderie among locals.
Iqlima Lim, a participant, shared her excitement, saying, “I never expected M-Run in Sampit would be this amazing. Hats off to Midtown Xpress Sampit and AM Runners.” The event's success was supported by various sponsors and the local community, particularly the AM Runners, a local running community who also participated in the event.
Earlier in the anniversary week, Hotel Midtown Xpress Sampit celebrated its ninth year with activities including an e-sports tournament, professional cooking competitions, tree planting initiatives, and a culinary bazaar featuring local SMEs. The week-long celebration highlighted the hotel's commitment to community engagement and support for local economies, showcasing various competitions such as cosplay, dance performances, and video contests.
