ARYADUTA Manado and Beach Clean Up Community Collect 173 Kg of Waste from Karang Ria Beach
ARYADUTA Manado reaffirmed its commitment to environmental preservation by partnering with the Beach Clean Up Community in a joint beach clean-up initiative at Karang Ria. This effort is part of ARYADUTA’s ongoing dedication to social and environmental issues, especially those related to the protection of coastal ecosystems.
Despite heavy rain and high tides earlier in the morning, dozens of participants showed up and began the clean-up as early as 6:00 AM local time. Karang Ria was chosen as the location because, although it’s an open public beach right in the city center, it still receives limited public attention and care.
173 Kg of Waste: A Stark Reminder of Coastal Challenges

During the activity, participants successfully collected around 173 kilograms of waste, consisting largely of plastic, styrofoam, and household garbage. This significant amount highlights the pressing issue of waste pollution in coastal areas—even in locations near urban centers.
Karang Ria Beach recently drew attention when it was reported as a nesting site for sea turtles—an important ecological indicator of a healthy marine environment. By cleaning up this area, ARYADUTA and the community aim to make a tangible impact while raising collective awareness about the importance of protecting our oceans.
Collaboration and Inspiration

General Manager of ARYADUTA Manado, Jayadi Hadinata, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration:
“We’re incredibly proud to be part of this impactful and positive activity. We hope more communities, institutions, and even individuals will be inspired to take part in keeping Manado’s beaches clean,” he shared.
This initiative also reflects ARYADUTA’s broader efforts to actively engage in social responsibility beyond the hospitality industry. Through real actions and partnerships with various stakeholders, ARYADUTA hopes to set an example that the hospitality sector can—and should—contribute to broader environmental causes.
