Conrad Bali Introduces Signature Sensory Odysseys

The ultimate wellness retreat for guests to rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit

Conrad Bali is now offering Signature Sensory Odysseys, perfect for travelers in search of transformative wellness experiences. From forest bathing and sound healing to signature spa treatments, the luxury beach resort’s latest holistic wellness journeys play on sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell, immersing guests in local Balinese experiences while rejuvenating the mind, body, and spirit.

The Art of Sound Healing

Held within the resort’s beautifully lit and tranquil Infinity Chapel, the Art of Sound Healing is an ancient meditative practice using vibrations and frequencies to promote emotional and physical well-being. Each 60-minute session is led by a local Indonesian sound healer who creates an alluring blend of binary beats and theta waves that activates the body’s natural healing system and balances the seven chakras. Recline, relax, and float away to the soothing chants of mantras, a chime of Tibetan singing bowls, and an eclectic ensemble of traditional musical instruments such as bansuri (Indian bamboo flute), karinding (Sundanese bamboo jaw harp) and more as dusk begins to fall. A complimentary seven-course plant-based Chakra Menu and Chakra essential oil blends are available on request to further enhance the overall experience.

Full Moon (Purnama) Celebration

Guests can rediscover inner peace at the “Island of Gods” with an authentic Purnama Celebration (or Full Moon Celebration). Held once every 28 days when the moon is full, the unique experience begins with traditional Canangsari and Tridatu making activities, and preparation of Balinese offerings, followed by an authentic Balinese ritual at the resort’s temple, Pura Sari Sedana. Enjoy an alfresco beachfront dining experience through a thoughtfully-curated three-course menu at Eight Degrees South, before unwinding over a calming ritual and meditation session at the seashore. The Melukat ritual takes place as the full moon rises – a spiritual purification process to cleanse the body and soul of negativity.

Olfactory Experience

The sense of smell is so closely linked with emotion and memory, probably more so than any other sense. At Conrad Bali, guests can now design bespoke fragrances, guided by professionally-trained perfumers from France. The Olfactory Experience features a selection of local, sustainable, and unique scents composed of Indonesian spices and flowers sourced from Bali to create the perfect fragrance for taking home as a beautiful memory of their stay.

Scenographic Cooking Class

Take a culinary sojourn together with Conrad Bali’s culinary team and learn to make a dish of choice. As part of the cooking experience, guests may choose between two unique immersions: a visit to the Amed sea salt farm to learn the long-lost art of salt panning; or a guided trip to the local organic farm for a lesson on regenerative farming – growing food while practicing environmental restoration and community building based on the principles of sustainability. Guests can expect to emerge from this experience with a deeper appreciation of authentic Balinese cooking.

Forest Bathing and Speakeasy Foraging

Called shinrin yoku in Japan, forest bathing is the art of gently revitalizing the mind and body through the natural beauty of surroundings, comforting sounds, and natural aromas. It is said to be a doorway back to nature, a taste of the life our ancestors lived, connected to all that is living around us, with an enchanting experience that will refresh the mind.

Conrad Bali’s forest bathing is an all-day adventure that begins with transport in a vintage off-road vehicle at dawn through different sights that depict daily life in Bali, a full immersion in the destination for guests. These include the hustle and bustle of Denpasar town, the everyday life of Balinese local villages, and a scenic drive around Bali’s UNESCO World Heritage Site of Jatiluwih Rice Terrace before reaching the shore of Lake Beratan.

At the lake, local rangers will guide guests’ canoes – a traditional kayak called Jukung – around Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, one of the nine ‘Khayangan Jagat’ temples in Bali, to the rim of the Bedugul rainforest. Upon stepping inside the forest, guests will next be invited to soak in a magical moment under the canopy of the towering Rasamala (Altinga excelsa), where all that can be heard is the rhythm of gentle nature and chirps of the birds resounding in mind. The journey then concludes with a serene meal next to a natural waterfall before heading back to the resort.
