GAIA Music Festival: Jazz In the Valley Inauguration Celebrates Music of the Year
Intimate, inspiring, and warm boasted the GAIA Music Festival 2022 - Jazz In The Valley performance, at the Amphitheater of The Gaia Hotel Bandung on 25-26 November 2022. Seeing the enthusiasm of the audience for these two days, The Gaia Hotel Bandung was very excited to be able to hold the event again.
“This is the inauguration of the GAIA Music Festival. Seeing the enthusiastic expressions of the audience over the past two days, of course, this has made us even more excited to carry on the responsibility of holding the GAIA Music Festival regularly," explained the General Manager of The Gaia Hotel Bandung, Novi Samodro.
She explained that actually, music has become part of several pillars of the concept carried out by The Gaia Hotel Bandung. Therefore besides the Amphitheater, they even have a music studio for visitors. “We want visitors not only to enjoy music, but to be inspired and be creative here. This amphitheater is also very open as a place for musicians who want to perform and show their work here,” she added.
Apart from being inspiring, the amphitheater does indeed give an intimate impression because there are no boundaries between the audience and the performers. Sokhi, who was the opening act on the first day, appeared from the audience to the stage. Andien, who closed the series on the first day after Barry Likumahuwa, even invited the audience to dance with him.
“The venue and crowd energy were incredible. At first, I was nervous too, because I performed with a special big band concept for the GAIA music festival. Rain is not a problem, it's still warm here," said Andien.
The second day of the event was opened by a jazz instrumental band from Bandung, 5Petani, who appeared attractive with a dress code according to the band's name. “We are very grateful to the GAIA Music Festival for this opportunity. Hopefully, this will become a regular annual event and a forum for musicians, especially Bandung musicians," hoped 5Petani's a bass picker, Arbi Wardani.
“Jazz Gunung has a unique stage. Usually we are invited to go up, play on the mountain, now we are going down to the valley with this beautiful amphitheater,” said Sri Hanuraga.
The inspiration for the GAIA Music Festival was also strengthened by Tompi, who gave bonuses to the audience. "Venue, the audience's musical mood made me add two songs to the song list I prepared," he said.
“I am happy with the concept of being close to nature like this. Hopefully, the GAIA Music Festival will become a regular event," concluded Tompi, who was the final performer of Jazz in The Valley
