In celebration of International Coffee Day, we had the pleasure of attending a unique event at Four Points by Sheraton Bandung on October 1, 2024. The hotel, in collaboration with Nitro Ventura and Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur Chinatown, introduced an innovative creation: Hibiscus Infused Nitro Coffee, a refreshing beverage inspired by Malaysia’s national flower.
Upon arrival at The Late Checkout, the hotel’s charming and inviting lounge, the vibrant atmosphere was immediately apparent. The warm ambiance and the lively conversations made for an ideal setting to explore this one-of-a-kind coffee experience. Priced at IDR 30,000++ per glass, the Hibiscus Infused Nitro Coffee blended the floral brightness of hibiscus with the smoothness and boldness of Nitro coffee, creating a unique yet harmonious taste.
When the beverage was served, we were captivated by its appearance—frothy, smooth, and carrying a subtle pinkish hue from the hibiscus infusion. The first sip offered a refreshing balance, as the natural sweetness and slight tartness of the hibiscus melded beautifully with the creamy texture of Nitro coffee. It was a delightful twist on the traditional coffee experience, smooth and invigorating without the bitterness one might expect from typical brews.
As we enjoyed the beverage, it became clear that this collaboration was thoughtfully crafted. Winni Ayuningtyas, the Food and Beverage Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Bandung, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "We are excited to share this innovative beverage with our guests." It was evident that the hotel had taken great care in delivering an exclusive offering to commemorate International Coffee Day.
The team from Nitro Ventura, represented by Raihan, Head of Marketing, explained the broader concept behind Nitro beverages. He described how these drinks offer a novel way to experience coffee, especially for those who may not usually connect with traditional brews. Nitro’s naturally sweet, silky texture provides a gateway to discovering new flavors, and the Hibiscus Infused Nitro Coffee is a prime example of how familiar beverages can be reimagined.
The collaboration also carried a deeper significance, as noted by Boon Leong Ho, Food and Beverage Manager at Four Points Kuala Lumpur Chinatown. He highlighted the international partnership between Indonesia and Malaysia through this Nitro Brews activation, celebrating the shared passion for innovation in both countries.
