Bali Island School ends the 2024-2025 academic year with strong IBDP results and starts the new academic year 2025-2026 with a new Interim Head of School.

Earlier this month, on 6 July 2025, over 202,000 DP and CP students worldwide received their results from the May 2025 examination session. Bali Island School (BIS), the most established IB World School in Bali, is pleased to congratulate all Class of 2025 students on their outstanding IBDP results, achieving a 100% passing rate and an average of 33.50 points, with the highest-scoring student achieving 43 points.

The global statistics show vibrant flying colours:

  • BIS average: 33.50 - Global average: 30.58

  • BIS Pass rate: 100% - Global pass rate 85.85%

  • 1 student achieving 43 points

"The Class of 2025 has achieved fantastic IBDP results. BIS is proud of once again having a passing rate of 100% and an average IBDP score of 33.50, with both numbers being significantly higher than the world average. In addition, 27% of our students achieved the Bilingual Diploma, demonstrating a commitment to IB goals for multilingualism and global citizenship. We are proud of all our students for their accomplishments and are excited for them to confidently embark on their post-secondary plans with the solid foundation they have built at BIS. Congratulations to all BIS graduates of the Class of 2025," said Jennifer Jenson, Diploma Programme Coordinator.

“As the incoming Head of School of Bali Island School (BIS), I commend our students on their impressive International Baccalaureate Diploma results, reflecting the IB’s emphasis on academic rigour and holistic development. Beyond grades, we value the skills and attitudes—such as resilience and global-mindedness—that students cultivate through the PYP, MYP, and DP programmes, in line with the IB Learner Profile. Let’s celebrate all students’ growth as they develop into lifelong learners and responsible global citizens. Congratulations to the students, parents, and dedicated DP faculty for their hard work, perseverance, and determination.”  Richard Reilly- BIS's new Head of School added.

Reilly joins Bali Island School with 20 years of experience in education. Before BIS, Richard was the Secondary Principal and later Head of School at the American School of Antananarivo, Madagascar, for eight years. He has also held leadership roles at the Hong Kong Academy as the High School Assistant Principal and IB Diploma Programme Coordinator. Richard has taught Science and Physics in Scotland and at the International School of Manila.

He holds a BSc in Physics and Mathematics, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Strathclyde University, a Certificate of International Leadership from the Principals’ Training Centre, and an M.Ed in Leadership and Management from the Open University, UK. He is especially interested in student leadership, global issues, and service learning.

Before teaching, Reilly worked as an Analyst and Political Attaché for the British government.

Richard Reilly and his wife, Angela, are excited to enjoy life in Bali, exploring nature, learning the culture, and leading Bali Island School to become the top choice for internationally minded families in Bali, Indonesia, and beyond.
