As BOEMI Botanicals' commitment to bring the best natural products, BOEMI Botanicals also has a similar commitment to build a business to empower the community, especially women, which is realized with a social movement called Wanita Bisa. Through activities and creation classes, Wanita Bisa is expected to be a community that inspires and motivates women to continue to develop their abilities, believe in dreams, and cross the inability to continue to be empowered.
The first activity carried out by Wanita Bisa, as a ‘stepping stone’ to carry out similar activities is conducting creative classes in collaboration with Bali Street Mum, opening a body care training workshop which is expected to be an inspiration and craft that can empower fellow women.
Boemi Botanicals with social movement Wanita Bisa in collaboration with Komunitas Wanita Wicara welcomed Independence Day in a different way. This Independence Day wants to be marked by intimate activities that are warm but still insightful by raising the discussion of women in the public sphere, especially the opportunities and challenges of women in the business world. Together with independent women, business woman to MSME players, an event entitled Wanita Bisa Wicara was held on August 16, 2024 at Gourmet Café Petitenget.
The Wanita Bisa Wicara event means that women can speak. A narrative that shows that women can have a voice, have an opinion, their ideas are worth considering, and have great potential that is recognized.
Present at the event was Defria Kirana as a speaker who filled the business sharing session. Defria's profile was chosen in accordance with Wanita Bisa's focus and commitment, which is women empowerment and supporting local MSMEs.
Defria founded Haluan Bali, a local clothing brand in Bali, in 2019. Specializing in creative economy industry, Haluan Bali offers a range of adult fashion products. Defria's journey is an inspiration for women to pursue their passion and achieve success. Her dedication has also led her to be certified in Women in Business mentoring through the Cherie Blaire Foundation Scholarship, so the material she delivers is very easy to understand.
Through the Haluan Bali brand, it is Defria's effort to disseminate and promote the culture, uniqueness and values of Indonesia, especially Bali, with the creation of designs on each product.
The event continued with a DIY parfume class, where participants made parfume by freely personalizing the scent according to their personal preferences.
Hopefully, in the 79th year of Indonesia, there will be more accessibility of self-actualization spaces and platforms for women to express themselves. And of course, hopefully through this small activity can inspire women out there to dare to dream, take challenges and express every potential and dream.
