Held in partnership with Eco Tourism Bali for the third consecutive year, the experience brought guests together through learning, coastal connection…

Jumeirah Bali marked World Sea Turtle Day 2026 with its annual Sea Turtle Release, held in partnership with Eco Tourism Bali for the third consecutive year. As part of Jumeirah’s wider global celebration of World Sea Turtle Day across its international portfolio, the occasion reflected a shared commitment to caring for marine ecosystems and honouring the natural character of the destination.

This year’s programme welcomed guests and local partners for a thoughtful experience shaped by education and participation. The journey began with a short educational session led by the Founder of Eco Tourism Bali, offering insight into sea turtle conservation and the importance of protecting Bali’s coastal ecosystem. Guests were then invited to walk to Dreamland Beach to take part in the release of 60 newly hatched turtles, before returning to Maja Sunset Lounge for light refreshments.

Held in collaboration with Eco Tourism Bali, a Bali based sustainability initiative focused on environmental education and responsible tourism, the annual programme continues to create a meaningful way for guests to connect with the island’s coastline while supporting local conservation efforts. Through shared learning and direct participation, the experience encourages a deeper understanding of marine biodiversity and the role each destination plays in preserving it.

The 2026 edition builds on two previous years of collaboration between Jumeirah Bali and Eco Tourism Bali. In 2024, the partnership marked World Sea Turtle Day through the release of 50 newly hatched turtles at Dreamland Beach. In 2025, the initiative continued with a further release of more than 30 newly hatched Olive Ridley turtles, alongside an educational session attended by 30 participants, including in-house guests and media partners.

Beyond Bali, World Sea Turtle Day was marked across Jumeirah’s international portfolio through a series of marine focused activations, from coral planting workshops and reef education in the Maldives to conservation led experiences for younger guests in Oman. Together, these initiatives reflect Jumeirah’s wider commitment to caring for the environments and communities in which it operates.

With many Jumeirah properties located along coastlines, the protection of marine ecosystems remains an important part of how the brand approaches both destination stewardship and guest experience. At Jumeirah Bali, the annual Sea Turtle Release offers a meaningful expression of that commitment, bringing together place, purpose and participation in a way that feels both local and lasting.
