Bambu Indah has been ranked 1st among Indonesia’s Best Upcountry Hotels at the 2026 Travel + Leisure Asia Pacific Luxury Awards, one of the region’s most distinguished benchmarks in contemporary luxury travel.

The 2026 Travel + Leisure Asia Pacific Luxury Awards honour the most exceptional hotels, lodges, and spas across Asia Pacific, as voted by readers of Travel + Leisure. The awards reflect a shifting global sensibility in luxury, one increasingly defined by depth of experience, integrity of design, and emotional resonance rather than excess or scale.

The awards were presented during the 2026 Travel + Leisure Asia Pacific Luxury Awards Gala Ceremony on 17 June 2026 at Dusit Thani Bangkok, convening senior executives, general managers, and hospitality leaders from across the region in recognition of the destinations shaping the future of the industry.

Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong & Macau observes, “Bambu Indah, the Ubud boutique hotel conceived by acclaimed jewellery designer John Hardy and his family, occupies a position that is, quite simply, singular. Experimental yet deeply artisanal, immersive in its engagement with nature, the property extends beyond an introduction to Bali’s jungle landscape into a full sensory entrenchment within it, framed by expressive architecture, considered interiors, and an ethos of meaningful sustainability. Homegrown, locally sourced cuisine, riverside dining, and natural swimming pools further define an experience that feels both elemental and refined, with each accommodation revealing a distinct sense of wonder.”

For Bambu Indah, this distinction reflects a broader recalibration of luxury travel toward experiences grounded in connection to landscape, to materiality, and to a more intentional cadence of living. The property continues to evolve as a place where architecture, ecology, and daily experience exist in quiet continuity, offering guests an immersive dialogue with its natural surroundings.

“This honour reflects a profound alignment between what we have long aspired to create and how the world is beginning to understand luxury,” said Citra Suriah, Corporate Director of Marketing for Bambu Indah, Green Village Bali, and The Kul Kul Farm. “It speaks to a shift toward experiences shaped by authenticity, place, and environmental consciousness. Bambu Indah offers a singular expression of hospitality defined by raw nature, artisanal architecture, regenerative cultivation, and cuisine rooted in a philosophy of longevity. It is a one-of-a-kind environment where every element exists in deliberate relationship with the natural world.”

Over time, Bambu Indah has also been internationally acknowledged for its distinctive contribution to experiential hospitality, including recognition as a “One of a Kind in The World” choice by TripAdvisor’s Traveller Choice, inclusion in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places, and designation by BBC Culture among the Top Ten Most Spectacular Treehouses in the World, affirmations that underscore its position within a global discourse on design-led, nature-integrated hospitality.

As the language of luxury continues to evolve across Asia Pacific and beyond, Bambu Indah stands among a select group of destinations redefining value through coherence of vision, ecological sensitivity, and experiential depth.
