In a remarkable display of commitment to both sustainable tourism and national pride, Grand Mercure Bali Seminyak organized a beach clean-up event, in honor of Indonesia's Independence Day. In the event, which took place on the shores of Seminyak Beach, the committed volunteers, local residents, and the hotel staff, all aligned in their common goal of safeguarding the allure of Indonesia's beaches.
The beach clean-up initiative is an integral part of Grand Mercure Bali Seminyak's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, demonstrating the hotel's unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and promoting sustainable tourism practices. With the ever-increasing concern for the preservation of our planet, Grand Mercure Bali Seminyak takes proactive steps to play its part in ensuring the beauty and health of Indonesia's natural wonders for generations to come.
"We believe that our responsibilities extend beyond providing exceptional hospitality experiences," stated Deta Aprilia, the Director of Sales & Marketing of Grand Mercure Bali Seminyak. "Through this beach clean-up event, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining clean and healthy beaches, not only for tourists but also for the local communities that rely on these coastal ecosystems."
The event was also a dual celebration, as it coincided with Indonesia's Independence Day atmosphere, a momentous occasion that commemorates the nation's journey towards freedom and unity. Participants in the beach clean-up proudly wear Red or White clothes like Indonesian flags alongside bags filled with collected trash, symbolizing their allegiance to both environmental consciousness and national pride.
The beach clean-up event witnessed an incredible turnout, with 20 volunteers coming together to remove 35 kg of waste from the beach. The event was graced by local Media, the local community, and Banjar Seminyak.
Grand Mercure Bali Seminyak is committed to making a lasting positive impact through initiatives like these, aligning its values with those of responsible tourism and community enrichment. By intertwining environmental responsibility with national heritage.
