This October marks the 29th anniversary of InterContinental Bali Resort. Celebrating that remarkable milestone, the resort has prepared something wondrous for world travelers and loyal guests. The legendary resort, located only 15 minutes drive from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, has unveiled its fresh new look, redefining the elegant luxury mix with the charming Balinese contemporary style.
The lobby now features a brighter palette with the use of natural marble, while the 430 rooms and suites now sport updated bathrooms and new furnishings. As well as the culinary venues at the resort have also received some significant renewals. Jimbaran Gardens, Sunset Beach Bar & Grill, Bella Cucina, Taman Gita, and KO Japanese Restaurant, have all been refurbished and are ready to welcome guests with their new look and menu concepts. This month, the Resort has marked the reactivation of Singaraja Lounge, Club Lounge, and Sayana Lounge as well as the launching of new outlets, such as Wellness Point and The Club.
The Launch of Jimbaran Convention Center (JCC)
InterContinental Bali Resort is proud to present Jimbaran Convention Center, one of the biggest event spaces on the island. The building is conveniently located adjacent to the resort’s main building and comprises splendid multi-purpose event spaces designed to cater to any event, from conventions to meetings to weddings. The opulent Jimbaran Convention Center consists of two and a half floors and is home to more than a dozen multi-purpose spaces. The building’s level one houses The Imperial Grand Ballroom, Puri Kencana Ballroom, Ramayana VIP Room, and Mahabarata VIP Room. Right above is the Mezzanine Floor, which holds an expandable Pandawa Ballroom, as well as the Nakula and Sadewa boardrooms. On the Second Floor, visitors can find an exquisite space for business meetings and official gatherings, with Pandu, Kunti, Yudistira, and Drupadi rooms serving as artisan event spaces of different sizes.
The Arjuna VIP Room and Bima Boardroom are also functional as more discrete event spaces. To give guests plenty of options to craft events as desired, three outdoor spaces, namely Taman Gita Garden, Alun-Alun, and Sunset Garden, which are spread across the resort’s lush tropical gardens, are now also part of the Jimbaran Convention Center. These outdoor areas aim to inspire clients who want to hold outdoor gatherings and can cater from 100 up to 2,500 guests.
The Charms of The Imperial Grand Ballroom
The Imperial Grand Ballroom is the jewel of the Jimbaran Convention Center. The multi-purpose space spans 2,300 sqm with a maximum capacity of 2,200 people and is dressed in contemporary design with a touch of Balinese flair. The Imperial Grand Ballroom, along with Jimbaran Convention Center, is designed by ARKdesign Architects in collaboration with Indesign Domus as its interior designer. The choice of materials and glossy finishes such as metal gold, bronze mirrors, marble, timber panels, and wooden accents, makes for a perfect space for paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media pieces to fill every corner of the newly established events space. The Imperial Grand Ballroom's entrances feature a sleek design with floor-to-ceiling windows to let the natural light in. The design is paired with traditional and contemporary styles embracing natural marble, rosewood panels, and decorative wall lamps, and is constructed with clean lines, with a soft, neutral palette of fine linens, and elegant finishes. The Imperial Grand Ballroom has a ceiling height of 10 meters crowned with Alabaster and golden Balinese dedange or steps to accentuate the image of luxury and heritage that signifies the InterContinental brand. The installation of plush carpets with abstract patterns that covers the grand ballroom floor completes the elegant look.
A lavish design is not only a charm that The Imperial Grand Ballroom holds. The grand multi-purpose space also offers an enhanced audio-video system and acoustic quality that are perfect for meetings, weddings, seminars, or even small concerts. The Resort wedding team is also available to help couples and wedding organizations create perfect wedding parties from small to big scale. With these facilities on offer, The InterContinental Bali Resort is confident that The Imperial Grand Ballroom will become one of Bali's most sought-after wedding destinations.
As part of InterContinental’s initiative to make their properties inclusive to every guest, The Imperial Grand Ballroom is designed to be a disabled-friendly space with the installation of adequate ramps and lifts and accessible toilets. There are also hearing loop facilities available for the hearing-impaired. The Imperial Grand Ballroom is linked with the resort's original ballroom, the Puri Kencana Ballroom, which has a capacity of 600 people and is also accessible from the resort's main building through its mezzanine floor. With new enhancements within the grounds of InterContinental Bali Resort, the IHG Hotels & Resorts property is ready to welcome guests with sophistication and comfort in a tranquil Balinese setting. The most glorious white sand beach and the best sunset spot on the island await its guests to come and visit.
