SugarSand at Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach proudly welcomes Agung Satria as a guest bartender at a special bar takeover event on 25 August 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Agung is a bartender by birth and a mixologist by choice. He has more than a decade of experience honing his skill at various bars in Bali and overseas, including in Vietnam and France. His talents have helped him bag some awards and achievements, such as being the champion of the Angostura Global Cocktail Competition (Asia Round) 2020, the third winner of the Angostura Global Cocktail Competition (Global Final Round) 2020, and successfully taking Bam Bam, a renowned bar in Vietnam, to be the best bar in Vietnam by Vietecera Magazine in 2020. Currently, Agung is serving as the brand ambassador of Bacardi-Martini Indonesia.
The seasoned bartender will craft three signature cocktails for guests during the collaborative event. They are:
● Daiquiri of the Century
A mix of Palo Santo oil washed Bacardi Carta Blanca rum, vino sherry, and passion fruit cordial topped with tribal lime wedge as garnish.
● Sunny Side Up
A mix of Bacardi Spiced Rum, Amaretto, lime juice, and egg white topped with lemon coin as garnish.
● $10 Milkshake
A mix of peanut butter Bacardi Spiced rum, Bourbon, and Planet-X blend syrup topped with walnut and gold leaf as garnish.
The three unique cocktails are only available on the d-day. However, the $10 Milkshake cocktail has made its way to become the special cocktail of the month for the entire August.

SugarSand’s New Signature Cocktails
Dewa Ari, the leader of SugarSand’s Balixologists, recently created a Japanese-inspired cocktail collection that pays homage to Japanese cocktail culture. The ten signature cocktails are:
● Cha-No-Yu
A Japanese highball cocktail inspired by Japanese tea ceremonies and intended to embody the warm and welcoming Japanese experience. The cocktail is concocted using Japanese tea ingredients and whisky, resulting in unique characteristic notes.
● The Ri-Kishi
Inspired by the great World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler Rikishi, this cocktail has a balance between sweet, sour, and salty, with a hint of spiciness and bitterness resembling Rikishi’s distinctive appearance and entertaining character.
● Geiko & Maiko
Inspired by the warm hospitality and fascinating story of Kyoto’s geisha, this cocktail is intended to capture the essence of geisha’s beauty and grace into a drink that reflects their hospitality and traditional artistry.
● Hana-Me
Inspired by the beauty of sakura flowers during the spring season in Japan, this unique cocktail is embraced with a floral note from sakura flowers and rich botanical hints from the Japanese gin.
● A-Ojiru
Inspired by the abundance of natural resources in Japan, the green cocktail represents the country’s beautiful nature. Aojiru means “green drink” in Japanese, incorporating green vegetables to create a refreshing and healthy beverage.
● Aoji-Show
Inspired by shiso, an ancient Japanese herb with a unique flavor similar to basil, this refreshing carbonated cocktail is a modern twist on the classic mojito.
● Wabi-Sabi
Inspired by wabi-sabi, a Japanese philosophy that values imperfection and the natural cycles of growth and decay, this cocktail uses unconventional ingredients and believes flaws can lead to new, unexpected experiences.
● Umegroni
Inspired by the classic Negroni cocktail, this concoction is a modern take on Negroni using Japanese plum wine and roasted orange peels to create an interesting twist.
● Nihon Bird
Inspired by the tropical cocktail Jungle Bird invented in 1978, made with rum, pineapple juice, and Campari, this cocktail shines on its own with the addition of secret Japanese ingredients to twist it.
● Umai Sour
Inspired by people’s favorite Whiskey Sour, this cocktail is a creative reinterpretation of the classic cocktail, adding Macca and ginger to enhance the flavor.
