BIS students excelled at the Bali Math Competition and earned Bronze Medals at the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad. In June, BIS triumphed in the World Scholars Cup Bali regional competition and later participated in global events in the USA and South Korea, connecting with students worldwide.
Sportsfield celebrates victories, including our Basketball and Girls' Volleyball Team winning championships at the BSSA matches. Our Boys' and Girls' Dragon Swimming teams also triumphed in the IISSAC, and three Bali Dragons excelled at a Swimvitational in Jakarta. A Grade 5 student also won 1st place in the 400 m Kids' Dash at the Maybank Marathon Bali! These achievements showcase the talent of our BIS community.
BIS also continues to be dedicated to service and sustainability throughout 2024 with the following initiatives:
Held a coaching clinic by collaborating with a high-caliber national coach, Agung Gantar, to over 40 young athletes in Buleleng
15 students planted five coral fragments on racks in a protected area with the help of professional divers from the Livingseas Foundation. This initiative, focusing on the Life below Water (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #14)
In collaboration with Villa Kitty, our students contributed to sterilizing more than 45 stray cats in Gianyar, embracing the commitment of UNSDG #15 (Life on Land)
Students from Taman Bacaan provided 25 English lessons for local students in two public schools in Sanur and donated 50 books, including English dictionaries.
18 BIS UNSDG Heroes shared knowledge about the UN SDGs with 50 local students across Gianyar at the Maybank Marathon Bali Sustainability Pavilion
BIS also hosted a workshop in partnership with Maggi Farm for environmental sustainability awareness to our 33 Grade 5 students
