What's New Bali had the privilege of savoring the authentic flavors of Indonesia at this latest gem in the Sarirasa Group's culinary collection.
Passionate, Innovative Pursuit
Founded in 1974, the Sarirasa Group now operates over 80 restaurants across Indonesia (and soon-to-be inNetherland, Europe next year!). This legacy is evident in Sate House Senayan's time-honored recipes and attentive service. The staff’s warm hospitality, reflecting the essence of Indonesian culture, made us feel completely at home. Sate House Senayan Canggu is inspired by the Sarirasa Group's dedication to preserving and promoting Indonesia's culinary heritage. The restaurant excels in blending traditional flavors with modern twists, ensuring each dish offers vibrant, authentic tastes.
A Haven of Tradition and Modernity
As we arrived at Sate House Senayan Canggu, we were enveloped in elegance, where Indonesia's heritage blended seamlessly with modern sophistication. Wooden accents and sleek glass elements harmonized perfectly, creating a refined ambiance. Our gaze rose to vibrant Balinese textiles, intricately curated and refreshed every two months, adding cultural depth. The open-air setting invited relaxation, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. We're so ready for the culinary journey to come!
One Destination for Indigenous Delight
Sate House Senayan Canggu is a part of Sarirasa hub, a dynamic space designed to be a one-stop destination for dining and style. The hub not only offers exceptional culinary experiences but also features an eclectic boutique right next to the restaurant. Here, guests can explore a curated selection of stylish batik and Indonesian-style fabrics, providing the perfect blend of cultural heritage and contemporary fashion.
Timeless Cuisine, Innovative Presentation
Our culinary journey began with the welcome drink, Batavia Magic, a refreshing twist on Jogja's signature Bir Pletok. The sprinkling of lime, changing the drink's color, was a delightful touch! This creative beverage set the tone for the rest of our meal.
We tried the restaurant's Tasting Set Menu, an assorted platter showcasing the chef's mastery. Each dish was meticulously crafted, balancing flavors and textures that fairly represents the authentic indigenous flavors of Indonesia. The oseng tempe, perkedel jagung, and ikan pesmol showcased the chef's ability to elevate traditional Indonesian recipes. The mie goreng and udang goreng tepung were equally impressive, with the latter offering a satisfying crunch. Standouts included the Sate Ayam Ponorogo, tender and flavorful chicken satay, and the Jamur, succulent king oyster mushroom satay.
Desserts were equally impressive. The Es Campur, a classic Indonesian shaved ice dessert, was paired with Arak for an extra kick. The Bolu Tape Keju, a creamy, cheesy tape cake, and the Brownis Pisang Coklat, rich banana-chocolate brownies, showcased the chef's skill in crafting sweet Indonesian treats.
Refreshing Libations
The dedicated bar of Sate House Senayan Canggu (the first of its franchise!) offered an impressive selection of cocktails and mocktails, featuring native Indonesian alcohol brands. We savored the Telang Sling, a fragrant, gin-based concoction, and the Asam Kumbang, a fruity, passionfruit-infused delight. The Iced Jasmine Tea provided a soothing, caffeine-free option. The bartender's creativity shone through each drink, blending traditional flavors with modern twists. Even the drink straws, made from organic lemongrass, reflected the establishment's commitment to sustainability.
With its extensive history, innovative presentation, and commitment to sustainability, Sate House Senayan Canggu embodies the country's rich culinary heritage. As the restaurant prepares to expand internationally, we eagerly anticipate its global debut. For those seeking an authentic Indonesian dining experience in an upscale, welcoming atmosphere, Sate House Senayan Canggu is a must-visit destination.
