Nestled within Segara Village Hotel, right on the side of tranquil Segara Beach, we found ourselves indulging a pleasant dining moment at the exquisite Byrd House. Designed by the esteemed architect Yoke Sara, this elegant beach house and dining destination intertwines sleek, minimalist interiors with intricate bamboo details, inviting guests into a contemporary sanctuary.

Led by the culinary expertise of Chef Luca Masini, Byrd House has redefined dining elegance with its latest menu innovation. The refreshed lunch and dinner menus not only cater to traditional palates but also embrace gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian preferences without compromising the sophisticated flair the establishment is known for.

Chicken Kale Salad

Our dining experience kicked off with a tantalizing array of appetizers. The Chicken & Kale Salad, a masterpiece of grilled free-range chicken, fresh kale, quail eggs, red grapes, parmesan shaved cheese, and pumpkin seeds, delighted our taste buds with a perfect balance of savory and umami flavors. Meanwhile, the Bedugul Green, a refreshing medley of mixed fresh vegetables from Bedugul gardens with crispy tempe and feta cheese, provided a delightful appetite booster.

Moving on to the mains, the Boscaiola stole the spotlight with a fine combination of homemade tagliatelle pasta accompanied by slow-cooked beef cheek ragu, wild mushrooms, and parmesan cheese. The combination of tender beef cheek, hand-crafted al dente pasta, and flavorful mushroom-parmesan sauce created a symphony of taste that left us enchanted.

Tuna Sambal Matah sama apalah

The Sumba Tuna Sambal Matah, featuring a generous portion of grilled tuna steak with Balinese Sambal Matah spicy sauce, coconut vegetables, and steamed rice, transported us to the heart of Balinese flavors. The authentic taste of Sayur Urap, the Indonesian-style sauce, paired with the perfectly grilled tuna steak was a culinary masterpiece.

Dessert at Byrd House is nothing short of extraordinary. The Hazelnut Paris Brest with Saffron Quenelles and the Mango Cheesecake Parfait offered a sweet conclusion to our dining experience. This French classic treat with a twist showcased Chef Luca's innovative touch, while the Mango Cheesecake Parfait delivered a perfect blend of fruity and creamy goodness.

The dining journey at Byrd House is not only about the exceptional menu but also the immersive experience. The main dining area, dedicated solely to the new menu, ensures a deep dive into the culinary wonders crafted by Chef Luca. For those seeking a versatile palate, the beach deck offers both light bites and selections from the full menu.

But for our particular visit, we opted to explore the fresh mocktail options - the Red Strawberry Finch, Antioxidants, and Cooling Remedy. Each sip was a refreshing blend of sweet and sour, enhancing our overall dining pleasure.
