Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, Reinforces Commitment to Sustainability Through Innovative Culinary Concept
-

Set in the lush wilderness of northern Ubud, Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, is a brand extension of Banyan Tree Group, symbolising the brand’s vision and commitment to creating immersive experiences that combine deep nature with sustainable design. Pioneering a “no walls, no doors” concept across the resort’s 16 balés (villas), Buahan offers an adults-only retreat that redefines the essence of being.

From The Community To The Table

In alignment with its dedication to sustainability and community, Buahan has crafted a culinary concept emphasising local sourcing and environmental stewardship. With 80% of its food sourced from nearby farmers and producers within an hour's reach, the resort ensures the freshness and authenticity of its ingredients, supports the local economy, and reduces its carbon footprint. This approach reflects Buahan’s deeper narrative—one that blurs the lines between place and experience, allowing guests to connect meaningfully with the land.

The resort's culinary offerings centred around Open Kitchen and The Botanist Bar, spaces designed to nourish both body and soul. Here, guests are invited to explore a zero-waste, farm-to-table philosophy honouring traditional techniques and local flavours. Each dish is a story, each drinks is a celebration of Bali’s natural abundance, all crafted to inspire a deeper connection with the world around us.
