AWAKENING – FROM SILENCE TO SONG

A performance of rebirth, light and new cycles

Featuring Ivan Yanakov, Ambroise Aubrun and Bryant Gozali

After a short break, Padma Musical Series returns on Easter weekend with a trio of internationally acclaimed artists. We have spent the last few weeks curating our season for 2026, and there are some wonderful shows planned featuring both triumphant returns and new artistic voices, beginning with this April 4th concert entitled “AWAKENING — From Silence To Song”.

IVAN YANAKOV (Bulgaria) - Headlining the 4 April performance at Padma Musical Series is internationally acclaimed pianist and conductor Ivan Yanakov, a compelling musical voice who has performed in over 30 countries across Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America. Renowned for his expressive interpretations and versatile repertoire, Yanakov has graced prestigious stages including Carnegie Hall’s Recital Hall in New York, Cadogan Hall in London, Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, Sydney Town Hall and Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre. His artistry is widely celebrated in the classical world, with recordings available on more than 120 digital platforms, including his latest release of Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra. A distinguished musician, educator, and collaborator, Yanakov brings both technical mastery and profound musical insight to this special evening, leading a refined trio performance that promises to be a highlight of the Padma Musical Series calendar.

AMBROISE AUBRUN (France) - Hailed in Europe as a “marvellous violinist” by France Musique with a “sensitive tone” (Pizzicato Magazine), Ambroise Aubrun is an accomplished French violinist with a genuinely international profile as a recitalist, chamber musician, and recording artist. Having performed in major halls across Europe, the Americas, and Australasia, he is also a respected collaborator with leading artists and ensembles, a sought-after guest concertmaster, and a passionate advocate for contemporary music, having premiered over 30 works worldwide. Alongside his performing career, Aubrun is Associate Professor of Violin at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and artistic director of UCLA’s Henry J. Bruman Chamber Music Festival. His versatility extends beyond the classical world, with performances alongside artists such as Herbie Hancock, Moby, and Pink Martini — making him a compelling and prestigious special guest for our program.

BRYANT GOZALI (Indonesia) - A leading Indonesian cellist based in Jakarta, serving as co-Principal Cellist of the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra and as a founding member of the acclaimed Jakarta Trio. Widely regarded for his musicality, leadership, and chamber music artistry, Bryant has become a familiar presence at Padma over recent seasons. Through his close artistic friendship with Ambroise Aubrun and his continued engagement with our program, he has become an integral part of our musical community — making it both a privilege and a natural choice to invite him to perform with us once again for this opening chapter of the 2026 Padma Musical Series.

Together, these three artists will guide audiences through a carefully curated journey of musical transformation. From the dramatic intensity of Mendelssohn and Beethoven to the reflective lyricism of Rachmaninoff and Fauré, the evening unfolds as a meditation on renewal — culminating in contemporary works that speak to light, introspection and new beginnings. AWAKENING is conceived not merely as a concert, but as an emotional arc — mirroring the spirit of Easter weekend and the turning of a new artistic season.

Limited early bird tickets are available now. Early booking is strongly recommended for what promises to be one of Bali’s most captivating cultural evenings this Easter weekend.
