Apéritif Presents “Return to Roots: Sumba’s Story, Told in Ubud”

Apéritif Restaurant proudly announces, “Return to Roots: Sumba’s Story, Told in Ubud,” a special charity dinner held on Thursday, 4 December 2025, bringing together three of Indonesia most innovative culinary teams: Apéritif Restaurant, Syrco BASÈ, and Locavore NXT. This memorable evening is dedicated to celebrating the cultural heritage of Sumba and supporting the Sumba Hospitality Foundation through a curated dining experience, cocktails, and a charity auction.

A Culinary Collaboration Led by Sumba’s Own Chefs

For this one-night-only event, each kitchen is represented by Sumba-born chefs who began their culinary education at the Sumba Hospitality Foundation, with each restaurant contributing a team of two or four chefs to celebrate the island’s talent and evolution. Guests will enjoy a six-course menu featuring distinctive flavours and storytelling from chefs who now shine in some of Indonesia’s most acclaimed kitchens.

Adding to the experience, all cocktails for the evening are crafted by Sumba bartenders, also alumni of the Sumba Hospitality Foundation, collaborating behind the bar at Pinstripe Bar to create a beverage journey inspired by the island’s landscapes, ingredients, and traditions.

An Evening with Purpose

Priced at IDR 1,500,000++ per person, the event includes:

- A collaborative six-course dinner

- Curated cocktail pairings by Sumba mixologists

- A meaningful “Silence Auction” with 100% of proceeds donated to the Sumba Hospitality Foundation

Auction and prize items include contributions from leading resorts, restaurants, and hospitality partners across Indonesia, including stays, dining vouchers, experiences, spa packages, and more.
