Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) have elevated their positioning and recognition in the list of the world’s best airports, according to Skytrax.
Skytrax, an independent aviation rating agency based in London, UK, ranks the best airports based on a survey of 13 million air transport users from over 100 countries, covering 565 airports worldwide from August 2024 to February 2025 on its official website, the Skytrax World Airport Awards.
Surveyed passengers were asked to rate airports based on their experiences at key service points—ranging from check-in, arrival, transfers, shopping, security screening, and immigration, to departure.

CEO of PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (InJourney), Maya Watono, stated that airport transformation is a vital process for the development of Indonesia’s aviation and tourism industries. She noted that airports represent the "face of the nation" and should provide excellent service to leave a good first impression on visitors to Indonesia.
InJourney, through its subsidiary InJourney Airports, has begun the transformation process at the two largest airports it manages. This transformation will expand to 37 airports under InJourney Airports, aiming to improve passenger services.
The transformation is being carried out fundamentally, covering aspects of premises, processes, and people, supported by the implementation of technology as an enabler.
“This award aligns with our airport transformation efforts, which include infrastructure upgrades focused on customer experience (Premises), ecosystem-based airport operations (Process), world-class customer service by all staff (People), and technology as the enabler,” she explained.
This revamp has been ongoing since September 2024. Indonesia’s airport management entered a new chapter with the merger of PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) and PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) into PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, or InJourney Airports.
