The government has expanded public transport access to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and Ancol with the official opening of the JIS Station. This new station is expected to make it easier for commuters to utilise the commuter line (KRL).
JIS Station is located on the Tanjung Priok Commuter Line, which runs between Jakarta Kota and Tanjung Priok, situated between Ancol Station and Tanjung Priok Station. The new station provides direct KRL access to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) via rail connections through Kampung Bandan Station and Jakarta Kota Station.
According to the Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, the JIS Station is located less than 200 metres from the stadium, allowing visitors to walk directly to the venue without relying on private vehicles.
“For Ancol, feeder services will be available to provide seamless connectivity,” he added.
The station began limited operations on 22nd June 2026, at 1 PM. During this initial phase, Tanjung Priok Commuter Line trains stop at JIS Station every 30 minutes. The station is set to operate daily from 5:30 AM to 9 PM.
In addition, the Ministry of Transportation confirmed that KRL operating hours will be extended whenever major concerts, sporting events, or other large-scale gatherings are held at JIS.
“It would not make sense for train services to stop at the normal schedule while thousands of people are still leaving the venue. Operating hours will be extended to accommodate passengers travelling to and from the stadium,” he concluded.
The government confirmed that the station's main construction has been completed, including its platforms, pedestrian walkways, and connecting bridge linking the station to the surrounding area.
However, several supporting facilities—including elevators, escalators, and additional access points—will be completed in stages to ensure the station eventually meets higher service standards.
KAI Commuter estimates that JIS Station will serve between 1,000 and 2,000 passengers per day during its initial operating phase. To ensure smooth operations, KAI Commuter has deployed additional station staff throughout the limited service period. Passengers are also encouraged to help maintain the station's facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.
