Listen to the Voices of Love and Tradition in JW Marriott Surabaya Heritage Wedding Fair

Surabaya, August 2023 - Love is in the air once more in JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya in the long awaited Heritage Wedding Fair. Surabayan lovebirds who wish to further deepen their relationship should not miss this wedding fair to plan their most important day of their lives. From 11-13th August 2023, 11 AM to 9 PM everyday in the Royal Ballroom of JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya, couples are able to meet with more than 50 expert vendors with years of experience up their sleeves to exchange “Svara” (Suara) or voices with them, getting up close and personal to realize their wedding dream.

“Svara” (Suara) or voices – the main concept for the Heritage Wedding Fair is seen as a powerful energy that rejuvenates the heart and soul. It leads astray lovers towards each other through a mutual understanding by intimate communication, opening their hearts to convey their deepest thoughts and inner desires. Communication, in this day and age, is still done ‘traditionally’ by talking face to face, as well as utilizing the wonders of technology. As such, the Heritage Wedding Fair attempts to marry traditional Indonesian culture with technology and modern art to create a once in a lifetime romantic experience for couples.

The “traditional” touch of The Heritage Wedding Fair lies in the celebration of the classic, rich, and vibrant culture of this vast archipelago, where each region has their own way of celebrating a joyful and sacred wedding day. Among the various cultures, the Heritage Wedding Fair will showcase three most popular wedding cultures or ‘adat’ to unite two souls together for a lifetime: Javanese, Minangnese, Balinese culture. The Royal Ballroom will be transformed into six distinct islands, each showcasing timeless yet contemporary and elegant decorations by top wedding vendors and partners in Surabaya.

To name a few, JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya will be collaborating with Lasika, Nuansa and Dfactory Production, a famous conceptor from Surabaya who are maestros at creating a magnificent atmosphere using the magic of lighting and LED screens. The six islands at the Heritage Wedding Fair will artfully present the three Indonesian wedding cultures mentioned earlier. JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya will showcase Minang culture, while Jiwa Muda and The Queen Wedding Organizer will present Balinese culture. The Javanese culture will be beautifully represented by Kami Kisah Wedding Organizer, and Mazarso Wedding Organizer.  Last but not least, Kinara Kinari Wedding Organizer will represent Sundanese culture.

Blending the richness of Indonesian culture with the magic of technology, the event's decor will feature intricate LED light displays and traditional Indonesian design elements, weaved together expertly to create a mesmerizing ambiance. As lovebirds traverse the Royal Ballroom, they will be captivated by how delicate flower arrangements harmoniously dance with state-of-the-art technology, creating a truly enchanting wedding experience.

This ‘marriage’ of technology and culture is already visible upon entering the Hotel Lobby area. Guests are greeted with LED installations to first immerse themselves in the technological advancement of modern-day decorations. Moving up to the Royal Ballroom, in contrast to the beautiful rows of bamboo gates in the entrance, massive installations shaped like giant books made out of LED screens are aligned to display artistic montages that tell the epic of “Svara”. As if entering an enchanting fairytale, ambience music is also played throughout the event to enhance the overall experience. Furthermore, Lasika Production will also present Javanese, Minang, and Balinese decor with LED screens.

In this long awaited Heritage Wedding Fair, couples are cordially invited to attend the Exclusive Wedding Expert Session, where they are able to see decorations up close, consult and view live demonstrations from expert make-up artists, and indulge in delicious food tasting with menus curated by JW Marriott Hotel’s own master chefs. The array of mouthwatering menus aren’t limited to Indonesian cuisine, but also Tang Palace Chinese Restaurant and Imari Japanese Restaurant. Furthermore, enjoy an exclusive food tasting set menu experience on Sunday for couples who confirm during the event to host their wedding in JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya.

In line with combining technology and traditional elements, guests who wish to participate in the Wedding Fair virtually can go online on instagram @jwmarriottsby to join the live social media interactive event. Throughout the event, there will be a live interview session with wedding organizers who will share their experience to online viewers. Two exciting live make up demonstrations can be seen on Saturday and Sunday with two different themes. Saturday’s live make-up demonstration features Sundanese culture from Savitri MUA with accessories from Pandra Shanee and attire from Priwanggono. On Sunday, Palembang culture will take the stage, with Malvava makeup, accessories from Jalika by Le Ciel, and attire from Anarav Label.
