Hard Rock Hotel Bali supports the installation of river barriers and related activities
Hard Rock Hotel Bali is excited to announce the tremendous success of the 20th edition of the Rock n' Run 5k charity fun run, which took place on November 5th, 2023. The event successfully raised funds through auction and the race registration fee that was participated by over 850 runners from various backgrounds, such as the running community, hoteliers, corporations, and local residents.
The Rock n' Run 5k charity fun run at Hard Rock Hotel Bali aims to raise funds for various causes every year. The event in November 2023 was in partnership with Sungai Watch to install trash barriers and to purchase waterproof suits for the river warriors. The action will assist in their mission to keep Bali Rivers clean and to prevent the flow of plastic waste into the ocean. Founded in 2020 by the Bencheghib siblings - Gary, Kelly, and Sam - Sungai Watch now has a team of over 100 dedicated river warriors.
Since its inception in 2001, Hard Rock Hotel Bali's Rock n' Run has become an annual event that champions the brand's founding mottos of Save the Planet, Take Time to Be Kind, All is One, and, Love All Serve All.
During the ceremony of River Barrier Installation held on March 5th, 2024, General Manager Shane Coates expressed his deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community and enthusiastic participants. "We were extremely pleased to re-start our annual Rock n' Run in November after a short pause during the pandemic, and we are incredibly grateful to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event a resounding success," said Coates. "Through this event, we have ignited a flame of awareness and inspired individuals to take action towards preserving our Bali Rivers and creating a cleaner, more sustainable world for future generations."
In addition to the river barrier, Hard Rock Hotel Bali also contributed 65 waterproof suits to Sungai Watch. These suits will help protect the dedicated Sungai Watch warriors as they carry out their daily operations of collecting trash from the river, ensuring their safety and comfort as they work tirelessly to safeguard the environment
