Bali’s dining landscape is about to turn up a notch. This season, YUKI Group, the visionary minds behind Canggu’s beloved YUKI and Meimei, is set to ignite the island’s culinary scene with an exclusive cross-cultural collaboration.
Celebrated Filipino-Australian Chef Ross Magnaye brings his bold, modern take on Filipino cuisine from Melbourne to the Island of the Gods. Teaming up with Chef Yudha Permana of YUKI Group, this two-night event promises an unforgettable explosion of fire kissed flavors and creative flair.

The journey begins at Meimei on 1 May 2025, where Filipino and Southeast Asian cuisines meet the flame in a daring showcase of culinary craftsmanship. The experience continues on 3 May 2025 at YUKI Uluwatu, where the rebellious soul of Filipino food collides with the modern edge of Japanese izakaya in a boundary-pushing celebration of flavor.
Yudha Permana, Executive Chef of YUKI Group, says, “This is the kind of synergy we live for at YUKI Group. Ross brings this untamed, high-energy take on Filipino food, which we love. We will fuse that with our approach. Refined but playful, deeply rooted but globally inspired.”

“We are not just sharing flavors. We are sharing heritage, stories, and fire,” adds Ross Magnaye, whose restaurant Serai was named Time Out Melbourne’s 2024 Restaurant of the Year, has redefined Filipino cuisine in Australia. Magnaye is known for his fearless cooking style and signature dishes like kangaroo kinilaw and wood-fired seafood. Ross brings heat and heart to every plate.
The two-part collaboration will offer distinct yet equally exciting culinary experiences. At Meimei, YUKI Group’s newest Canggu outpost, with a custom multi-course Chef’s Selection Menu spotlighting Southeast Asian barbecue delights. Guests can expect bold, flame-licked dishes paired with curated wine or cocktail pairings, plus a limited selection of à la carte offerings that showcase Serai’s wood-fired soul and inventive spirit.

Meanwhile, at YUKI Uluwatu, the spotlight turns to Serai’s iconic Taco Sisig—a dish that has earned praise from Gordon Ramsay. The menu for the evening will blend Ross’ signature fire-driven Filipino flavors with locally sourced Balinese ingredients and YUKI Bali’s distinct modern Japanese sensibility, creating a one-night-only feast that is equal parts soulful and cutting-edge. There is also a sake pairing available at YUKI Bali.
Bringing the progressive flair of Asian cuisine, the collaboration represents more than just a dinner but also a celebration of Southeast Asian roots reimagined with global vision.
