As colorful kites begin to fill the skies above Sanur once again, Hyatt Regency Bali and Andaz Bali are set to bring back one of their most anticipated annual traditions, the Hyatt of Sanur Kite Festival on Friday, 3 July 2026, from 2 PM onwards.

Inspired by the Spirit of Sanur 
Taking place on the beachfront of Hyatt Regency Bali, this year’s festival carries the theme “Colors of Bali, Voices of Nature,” drawing inspiration from Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of harmony between people, nature, and spirituality. Through this theme, the festival pays tribute to Sanur’s long-standing relationship with the ocean, the fishermen who have shaped the area’s coastal identity for generations, and the rich marine life that continues to thrive along its shores. 

Over the years, the Hyatt of Sanur Kite Festival has grown into the largest annual event shared by Hyatt Regency Bali and Andaz Bali. What began as a friendly internal competition has evolved into a gathering that brings together hotel guests, local residents, community members, and colleagues from both resorts. 
 

A Sky Filled with Stories 
At the heart of the festival is the kite competition itself. Teams representing various departments across Hyatt Regency Bali and Andaz Bali will spend weeks transforming ideas into giant handcrafted kites measuring up to five meters in length. Inspired by Bali’s coastal heritage and the strong connection between the fishermen and the sea, each kite tells its own story before taking flight above Sanur Beach. 

The morning will begin with a lively parade from both resorts towards the festival grounds, accompanied by traditional gamelan musicians and cultural performances. Throughout the event, guests can enjoy traditional dance performances while watching the friendly kite competition unfold along the shoreline. 

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a selection of culinary stalls will line the beachfront, offering local favorites, refreshing drinks, and family-friendly treats for guests to enjoy.
 

Celebrating Creativity and Craftsmanship 
A panel of judges consisting of respected Balinese kite artisans and cultural experts Kadek Armika and Kadek Meranggi, alongside a special guest judge, will evaluate each team based on creativity, craftsmanship, storytelling, and overall presentation. 

The competition showcases not only impressive kite-making skills but also the creativity and teamwork behind each creation, making it one of the most anticipated moments of the festival. 

As the Sun Sets Over Sanur 
Following the festival, our media partners will be invited to continue the celebration at Fisherman’s Club, Andaz Bali’s beachfrontseafood restaurant, for an intimate early dinner and a special introduction to Andaz Twilight. 

Inspired by the golden hours before sunset, Andaz Twilight transforms Sanur’s beachfront into a lively gathering space where guests can enjoy live entertainment, refreshing drinks, family-friendly activities, beach bonfires, and relaxed seaside dining. Designed to capture the easygoing spirit of summer, the experience invites guests to slow down and enjoy the transition from day to night by the sea.
